In the photoshop print dialog box do you have "Photoshop manages Color"? If so, turn off any color correction in the printer preferences. It could be that you are doulble profilling which can cause the shift that you describe.

What printer are you using?

Geoff.

I'm using a Canon i960. I'm using the identical printing options all the way through the process. In CS3, I've actually had the best results using "Printer manages color" and the desired icm profile. My monitor is hardware calibrated, and I get a perfect print every time. I follow exactly the same flow in CS4, and it's just unacceptable. It really doesn't make any sense.

Hi Ed,

I'm in RGB color mode, and even tried switching to CMYK to see if that would fix the problem. The 8, 16 and 32 bit modes are greyed out, with 16 bit mode showing the check mark as being active. Any thoughts on this?

Cheers,

Bruce

I would reset the prefs first and delete all the AdobeFnt.lst files to see if it clears up, I had a problem with CS2 help files where they would appears in various fonts at different times, was never sorted out (who needs help files anyways).

Mmh, Win2K? Haven't heard that in eons. Did you perhaps create a mess by installing an Internet Explorer Update or an Office Service pack? W2K is not 100% Unicode safe, so some specific settings may need adjustment and/or an update has just blindly overwritten a font, which may be of a newer version with different glyph assignments...

It was Tahoma.ttf font file that got lost for reason unknown; a copy snatched from another machine restored order. Thanks to all of you for encouragement.

Users experiencing issues should update to the latest driver. The release notes generally will indicate a fix for particular cards if those cards were originally specified when the issue was reported. Because the driver is unified for the entire range of cards, if you are having a similar issue, chances are that it will fix your issue even if your card isn't specifically mentioned.

If anyone is still having issues with the latest driver 182.08, please verify that you do a complete driver uninstall before attempting to install this driver. Older drivers should always be removed to assure that the new driver configuration can be properly written to the system.

182.08 has fixed the cursor bug on my 8800GTX/Win XP Pro SP3 system, whereas 182.06 did not.

I did not need to do a clean install - installing over the top of 182.06 worked OK.

Thanks for all the behind-the-scenes effort that got this fixed. Now all I want is the CS3 cursor display that showed up much better against mid-grey than the CS4 version.

Hi guys. I am seeing the incomplete cursor again with the very newest drivers (182.08) on my Quadro CX any time I have a 3D application running at the same time as Photoshop. For example, Autodesk Maya or Luxology modo.

This is even *with* OpenGL acceleration turned *off* in Photoshop.

Windows XP Pro X64; Quadro CX; 182.08

Mogur203 - Have you checked your anti-virus/firewall apps?

How about downloading the update directly from Adobe and try running it. ACR can be downloaded from Adobe and that plug-in changed manually.

Not working for me. I installed dot release, and cleaned crap from my OS with Driver Sweeper. In .cab files in Windows Driver Cache folder I still got some Ati files (from my previous graphic card, right now its GF 8800GT). Have no idea if it has some influence, and its impossible to just delete those files.

I too have this same problem with the same Dell Notebook and Graphics card. I noticed on the Adobe web site that my/our graphics card, Quadro FX 1600M is NOT on the list. I have CS4 Design Premium and I only have problems with my mouse freezing (which makes is unusable for working like this) and my brushes do not display the entire brush.

I don't know who to contact, Adobe (about CS4), Dell (because my computer is still supported by them) or Nvidia (who makes my graphics card).

Anyone have any answers for me on this? I would SO appreciate it because I've been working to figure all this out for the past month, having to stop and reboot a lot so i can work. It is terrible! All the other products work fine in CS4 and yes, it appears that it is isolated to only Photoshop.

Running Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP Professional 160GB; 77GB Free

All of a sudden after more than a year functioning fine my clone stamp tool stopped working. Everything else is working fine. I reinstalled CS3 and the tool worked fine then, after a reboot, it stopped working again.

I am not supertech knowledgeable, so other than running a complete scan with my anti-virus program and a Windows Defender scan, neither of which identified any problems, I'm at a loss.

I'd be grateful for any ideas.

Hi

That's the straighforward bit, the rest you couldn't make up really.

Recently my desktop went belly up and I set myself up on my old laptop temporarily whilst I tried to fix desktop (hardware incompatability issues, machine just getting too old to take new hardware). I think I may (probably must have) installed CS2 temporarily on my old laptop as well during this period. I had at that point uninstalled it from the desktop. I did not do a tranfer, forgot all about it because I've been reinstalling for so long with no problems on the original desktop.

Whilst trying to fix old desktop, laptop went belly up too. Long and short is I now have a new desktop and an new laptop, neither of which I can install CS2 on because I did not do the transfer.

To top the lot, last night, before relising what I had done I wiped the hard drive from the old desktop and I dumped my old laptop although I do still have the hard drive.

I am going to try phoning Adobe but I am not looking forward to it.
Does anyone think they will play ball?

If they don't, I could put my old desktop back together (it may work well enough and for long enough to reinstall windows and CS2 and then do the transfer).

Will that work? Does the CS2 activation work on the hardware or the particular installation of windows?

And I was just about to start selling the bits that are okay on ebay!

I still have the operating system installed on the old laptop hard drive but I can't see what good that's going to do me at this stage having dumped the laptop.

Does anyone have any views as to best course? I am starting to feel that I have made a series of expensive mistakes!!st getting too old to take new hardware).
