Diga!
Marilena Trujillo

Se te perguntarem de mim...
Diga que fui ingrata... Que parti...
Que infernizei teus dias, feri tua alma,
Que jamais o fiz feliz... Ou entendi!

Diga que fui o teu desespero, tua insônia...
A única culpada das tuas pesadas penas...
Que tuas noites não tinham beleza, calor!
Que a minha consciência me condena!

Que em teu peito deixei cicatrizes profundas,
Que eu era fútil, fria, vaidosa... Arrogante!...
Que tomei posse da tua vida, da tua liberdade,
Que fui perversa... Uma ave errante!

Diga... Diga tudo quanto quiser!
Maldiga quando me conheceu e amou!
Deite pelas costas momentos lindos e felizes...
Diga que nunca... Desejou-me ou amou!

Aparte da tua existência a minha figura,
Tire o gosto do meu beijo em outra boca!
Navegue em sonhos maiores, perfeitos!
Bem sei... Será esta a tua fuga louca!

Mesmo assim... Permanecerei serena...
Arrasada por dentro é verdade, mas altiva!
Convicta do lugar que conquistei, ocupei...
Mesmo que me destrate, serei tua brasa viva!

A que chegou na hora exata... Fez-te sorrir,
Embalou tuas noites com mil sonhos e fantasias,
Que te cobriu de mimos... Mil beijos... Afagos...
E que tanto te amava... Desejava... E queria!...

Diga... Diga tudo que bem entender!...
No silêncio do teu quarto... Serei saudade!
A lembrança teimosa... Da paixão excitante,
Nosso amor seguirá pela cruel eternidade!
Mary Trujillo

Working in an Euroland magazine (Southernmost corner)...

I'd try an RGB file with a less wide space (AdobeRGB(1998), for instace) or...

ISO Coated Fogra27 or ISO Coated v2 (www.eci.org).

I'd avoid sending a ProPhoto RGB.

Yes, Gustavo is right, IMO.

See p.19,20 here:
<http://www.fho-emden.de/~hoffmann/labproof15092008.pdf>

AdobeRGB(1998) and ISOcoated v2 eci.icc are cooperating
very well - nothing lost.

Attention: it's a 3.4 Mbyte doc.

No further comments in the moment because of travelling
to Andalusia.

Thanks, Gustavo and Gernot. Not so sure about you, J... ;-)

What I forgot to mention in my OP is that I'm sometimes asked for a CMYK file, but not specified to any particular profile. That rings some warning bells with me, like asking for 300 ppi but not specifying dimensions (that happens too).

So can I assume that if I send, say, ISO Coated Fogra27 - and say so - that this profile will be honored and used and that's the way it goes to print? This is normal and accepted practice? Because if those profiles mentioned correspond roughly to AdobeRGB that will do nicely for me.

The reason I'd like to hear people' opinions on this, is simply that I've seen some horrible proofs here (not mine), obviously involving some strange profile juggling. I don't want to fall into any traps.

This a question for a Dreamweaver forum, however if you can change the HTML code for your menu item you could add TARGET="blank" like this HREF="http://www.nnnnnnnnnnnn.co.uk" TARGET="_blank".
This will open your slide show in a new window so when you close it your web site will still be in view. There are other ways to do it but this way is quite easy.
Geoff.

Not even with the Back button on the browser?

You need to put a link back to your home page on the index page that Photoshop created.

On my home and work computer I have Photoshop CS3 installed. Both the home computer and my work computer have the default

installation with no configuration changes.

When I open an image file (any foramt) on my work computer in photoshop CS3 the images appear to be filtered in a way that

while open in photoshop CS3 the images have a rich golden look and appear sharper. The original files are very pale like

sun bleached drift wood. If I save the images and open them in other applications the the images look like the original

files (pale bleached look) and do not retain the adjusted look. When I open the same files on my home computer in CS3 the

files do not have this golden look, but retain the original pale bleached look.

I "uninstalled" photoshop on my work computer and deleted all references and settings that I could find for photoshop. I

then reinstalled photoshop and logged onto the computer as a new user. The images still have the golden look while open in

photoshop CS3 and not the actual pale bleached look.

Files:
1. Both the home computer and the work computer are using the default color settings as shown in this screen capture:
<http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/frommm/photoshop/color_settings.jpg>

2. The home computer photoshop opens this file and it looks as it does pale bleached look:
<http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/frommm/photoshop/original.bmp>

3. The work computer photoshop opens the file titled original.bmp but displays it like this, with the golden look. This image is a screen capture of the file original.bmp open in photoshop on my work computer.
<http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/frommm/photoshop/original_file_open_in_photoshop.jpg>

Why is photoshop CS3 on my work computer altering the image, while photoshop CS3 on my home computer retains orignal pale bleached look?

Anti-aliasing means: create artificial pixels
at edges. These have colors somewhere between
the 'main image' and the 'background'.
These pixels have interpolated colors.
If the background is transparent, then such an
interpolation doesn't exist. Because a trans-
parent background doesn't have a color.

Are you loading image files while it's eating ram....Photoshop never releases the images after they have been closed....This can be a problem when using large or many small files.....

I guess it didn't matter in the olden days when image sizes were relatively small / less RAM intensive.

Wow...so many things to think about...I have Photodeluxe Home Edition 3.1, which came on my old ME, and PDHE 4.0 that I downloaded from a flash drive. I do not have the business edition... YET! I LOVE PD..Surely, the business edition and home edition must be similar. PD does the same thing as photoshop without going cross-eyed when looking at all the varables on the photoshop page..My goodness, I have not found any difference in the capabilities. Obviously you know much more about computers..I have Vista home premium 32. It is about 1 year old.
I reinstalled 3.1 and it works if I open it directly..I can't figure out how to get it to be recognized as a program this time, so I can't get it on the "open with" list. PDE worked fine before and so I just assumed that "time" caused it to fail. I do not know about hard drive problems (wish I did) and to my knowledge ...don't think I have viruses? Depending on when I installed either of them, I often got dll issues..missing xx dll. This time there does not seem to be any issues for the time being. I usually want to clean up noise in a photo or correct some minor cosmetic problems..I have Photoshop elements but HATE TRYING TO USE IT. I deleted CS3.I am sure if I wanted to study what all of the symbols mean, etc..using photshop wouldn't be so bad..but I HAVE A WONDERFUL PROGRAM= PHOTODELUXE that seems to be too oudated. I still will try to use it until the next time it fails. I know that I cannot let my vista update my ITUNES. When I tried to use an updated version, my DVD/CD ROM was knocked out and so I use an older version of Itunes. Last week my CD ROM drive was missing again, until I finally realized that my pc automatically updated to a new version of Itunes...Isn't that ironic..old Itunes is fine but not when it comes to old photodeluxe? In the future,I would use some of your tips if I understood them. If you keep using your PBE, keep in touch..So yours works fine but then it just shuts down? I never had that happen. I could not open the programs. Finally, I do not know what the differences are between business and home editions.

Robert, Why does photodeluxe work for awhile on Vista and then fails in 3-6-12 months? I use PD for photos in music videos. Some photos that are old need fixing up. Sometimes I enhance facial features. Sometimes I make a photo larger..I am not creating art from scratch if that is what you were asking. I just edit photos..remove backgrounds, feather, etc. For me, the photoshop page is so filled with graphics, dimensions, tool pics, that I become overwhelmed.

Okay so, whenever I try and install (In Vista 64bit) CS4 I get the error:

Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack_x64

LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral

Error 2.

Does anyone out there know what causes the above errors with CS4 installation? Does anyone know the solution, a Google search provides some clues but none that seem logically worked out.

The only real solution I could find was one telling me to do some things with the public folder, I tried that and the did a clean reinstall and no dice. Will be trying that again, any help would be amazing!!

Hello World,

Every time you duplicate a folder or a layer, it adds the word "Copy" at the end. Is there a way to get rid of this?

I've been looking for a solution to this for the past 2 years. I spend 8 hours a day in Photoshop creating Comps. I'm crazy about having my layers clean, therefore I use a lot of folders, etc.

I probably waste an hour a day removing the $%)?#* Copy word at the end of layers/folders. This is driving me CRAZY while losing a lot of precious time.

Any clues?

I'm still hoping Adobe will get rid of this with every new release and it never happens. Am I actualy the only one to think this "feature" is insane?

Thank you.

Problem: I sometimes have the selection from my cursor off 10 pixels.

I found out why this is happening and anyone can recreate this in the latest installment of Photoshop CS4 (I'm using extended)(mac)

Step 1: Make a new document. (any size)
Step 2: Turn ruler ON (CMD or CTRL + R)
Step 3: View document in full screen mode with menu bar (F once to fill the screen)
Step 4: Create a new document from that view (CMD or CTRL + N)
Step 5: Using the marquee tool, drag on the stage to see your selection off pixels.
Step 6: Look at the top of the document. You'll notice a white buffer the size of the ruler. It's because of the rulers, in fullscreen, creates a ghost of itself when creating a new document.

Please Adobe... FIX this!! =)

Also Flash CS4 bug. The Action panel on a mac cannot be re-sized from the TOP....... Adobe... seriously. HIRE ME to find these bugs out.

This is a known problem with certain Video cards which are not fully compatible with CS4's OpenGL.

Your choices are either to buy a new Video Card which is on Adobe's list of compatible cards; or to disable OpenGL.

Hi, in the same way one can double-click on an object to select its ungrouped layer in the Layers Palette, is there a way to select the individual layer of an object which is on a layer that is grouped with other layers in the Layers Palette?

Whenever I double-click on an object which is on a layer that is grouped with other layers in the Layers Palette, the entire group is selected. I would like to select an individual layer within the group.

Thanks

no, no, sorry... in a document with no groups if a circle on a layer is double-clicked upon, the layer with the circle is selected....

ok, now suppose there is a document with a group of three layers...one of the grouped layers has a circle on it, another of the grouped layers has a square on it, and another layer in the group has a triangle. If the circle in this document is double clicked the entire group of three layers is selected; if the square in this document is double clicked the entire group of three layers is similarly selected, etc. How can one select just the layer with the circle, not the group of three layers?

How can a person select just a layer in a group, not the group in which the layer exists?

Sorry this question is so convoluted...its been a lonnnnnng day.....

thanks again

No, many file formats are not premultiplied, and some file formats support an alpha channel that has nothing to do with transparency/opacity.

TGA is not premultiplied (some people think it supports opacity, and some don't).
PNG is not premultiplied, and only supports opacity.
TIFF is premultiplied if you use opacity (associated alpha), and not if you only use unassociated alpha channels (because they aren't opacity, the color data cannot be premultiplied).

Just because the format has a place for some extra data - that does not mean that the format supports your interpretation of the data. Most file formats are pretty specific about how the data should be interpreted, but some are not, and some (TGA) have grown a following of users who just ignore the specification entirely.

The drive probably isn't the issue.

An OS install with a bad default printer might be at fault.

Chris,

could not create new document because of a program error

Is there some way that some of these generic "program error" messages can be replaced by meaningful messages?

Font corruption seems to be much more prevalent among the old Type 1 PostScript fonts where the Outline and Screen fonts seem to be able to lose their links to each other.

There is software which can often repair damaged fonts — I used to use Fontographer to do that.

There are still a bunch of very old Fonts out there which were written with a resource fork and which are now unusable. These include early versions (Pre 1992 if I remember correctly) of Optima and Eras — among others.

Ann,

These include early versions (Pre 1992 if I remember correctly) of Optima
and Eras — among others.

Optima and Eras were the two Type 1 fonts written so that they output two distinct ways—one for low-res output devices (such as 300 dpi laser printers of the late 1980s-early 1990s); and one for hi-res output (such as for 2540 dpi imagesetters). As a result of higher resolution output devices plus user complaints about the different appearances, the fonts were eventually recoded so they printed identically to all output devices.

An excellent utility of extreme simplicity is TransType by FontLab. I've over 12,000 fonts and when FAP reports a bad font, I load it up in TransType and resave it. Cures the problem which FontAgent 'thought' it found every time. It might seem a little expensive but with a large font library it is modestly priced I think. I have to 'repair' about 4 or 5 fonts a year. You can also load them up and save them again in TypeTool, a modestly priced and limited tool set font creator. That's FontLabs cheapo font creation tool and very good too! That's what Ann was doing in Fotographer a much more professional tool.

Vik,

i've run the Mac OSX color calibrator to set it to gamma 2.2 and white
point D65

The only way to be sure, as said above, is with hardware calibration. If you were to do the same visual calibration three times in a row, I'd put money on the results not exactly matching each other.

I have the mac Pro Nvidia Gforce 7300. Reading the forums tells me i need a new video card to upgrade to CS4.

There isn't any use in even installing the trial with my video card, is there? CS3 is working well. I can live with the Bridge bugs, especially since Ramón noted that the CS4 cache mangement was still weak (in November - has that changed, Ramón?)

Ramón, you mentioned "mutant, 'flashed' for Mac cards originally built for the PC" Any alternative? In case I ever find it essential to upgrade.

I guess my honeymoon with the Mac is about over. Still love the stability, but not heaven on earth, is it!

Not necessarily. CS4 may run ok, just not Open GL functionality.

You don't need a new video card. You can run most Photoshop functions without it. But certain features, such as 3-D and rotation require advanced video or graphics cards. There are links in the gray panel on the front page of this forum for more specific information.

Within those limitations, I use Photoshop CS4 every day on my older G5 tower and without any flashed or upgrade card.

Thank you.

Seems quite sane to me. Why does it bother you?

To each his own.

Maybe it could be Scripted.

Phos,

you have to worry about objects taking on and reflecting the color of
the backdrop they're shot against.

That's a good point. Often times, reflected color (whether from green screen or bright objects that have been masked out) becomes very apparent once the art is silhouetted.

Some of the Pantone books offer CMYK color equivalents for each Pantone value. This might help here.
