Bir Çicek Aldım
Dün gece yine yalnızdım
Sokağa çıktım
Ve kendime bir çiçek aldım
Kendim almamış gibi yürüdüm sokaklarda
Ve yalnız değilmişim gibi düşündüm
Ama her gece gibi
Dün gece de yalnızdım
Ve kendime bir çiçek aldım
Bir saat geri alınmış saatler
Ben geri almadım
Ve bir saat daha yalnız kalmadım
Bir masaya oturdum
İki çay ısmarladım
Ben içtim
sen soÄŸuttun
sana söyleyeceğim her şeyi yuttum
çok dert etmedim
çünkü yoktun
dün gece yine yalnızdım
rahat ağladım
yokluğundan gizlemedim gözyaşlarımı
ve lambaları hiç karartmadım
dün gece
her gece gibi yalnızdım
sokağa çıktım
ve kendime bir çiçek aldım
sen sandım
Koklamadım.

oh well. sorry to hear that. that's why i think it's often better to just backup/reformat and be done with it. it would've taken less that a day.

as I said in my original post, playing with the cache levels makes no difference. Can you create a 900 dpi grayscale file 7x10 inches, just create say 10 extra layers and see if you can replicate this problem? Do the same thing with cs3 and see if it's the same delay. If any.

ooops...Sorry about that Dennis.

Just created a similar image to yours and it's pretty snappy - no delays here.

How much RAM have you installed? How much is allocated to CS4.

My System has 16gb ( cs4 set at 80% - Cache at 8 )so it may not be a realistic comparison. But, I did have a laggy undo / layer creation / menu when I first installed CS4, which was really annoying - a few tweaks in the prefs fixed it.

Maybe, just keep on tweaking.........upping the cache totally fixed the issues.....but, again, not very helpful as you've already tried the cache.

Not at all. First off, thanks for your help.

Okay, maybe you can help me make sense of this:

I ramped up the cache levels to 8. MUCH faster. Still not quite as fast as CS3 but a big improvement.

Even a little faster with hardware acceleration turned off.

I have 12 gbs of ram, with 8 dedicated to photoshop.

Do you think this means Id benefit from a faster video card?

fair enough, that workaround should work for 32 bit too - we only had the problem on 64 bit machines, the XP 32 never seemed to have it

can someone that has this issue on 32 bit try and and verify the work around works?

it's been a know workaround almost since cs3 was released... we've offered it to people with the problem many times. search this forum for "local printer".

Try resetting the type tool. This can eliminate other problems, like font size too small, etc.

Check your Image>Image Size to make sure the resolution is a number greater than 10.

Hi Bob:

I installed the 7.0.1 Update in Safe Mode without a hitch.

Ran PS7 in safe mode. When opened the startup series of windows and the way the small windows open to the right of the main window were the normal startup sequence, so this feels much better. But get the same error when trying to save as .jpg.

Can I pay Adobe to help me?

Have Fun,

Brooke Clarke

Hi:

I called Adobe Tech Support (sounds like in India) but they will not help me, even for money.

They could not suggest a third party who I might pay for help. Maybe someone on this forum knows of a third party that can help? So far PS7 is useless to me if it can not save as .jpg.

Have Fun,

Brooke Clarke

Hi again:

In order to rule out a conflict with some other WIN XP application I did a clean boot and then ran PS7. The same error occurs when trying to save as .jpg. It's not a WIN conflict, but something wrong with PS7.

Is PS7 compatible with WIN XP SP3 or do I need to downgrade my WIN XP to a lower level?

Have Fun,

Brooke Clarke

Hi:
------------SOLUTION----------------

I think I've found the problem and bug workaround.

PS7 can NOT "save as..." a .jpg file! .jpg should not be listed in the drop down box. This is a PS7.0.1 bug.

PS7 can "save for web..." a .jpg file!
Found this via Google on a MAC related web page, so the problem is platform independent.

Having Fun,

Brooke Clarke

Hi -

Last night I was trying to copy/paste one image into another, using the Vanishing Point filter. The object being pasted started out much larger than the area I marked out with the VP filter. After it pasted, I clicked the Transform tool (still in the VP filter dialog). I was able to rotate the pasted object, but could not find the handles to resize it. Finally, I managed to redo the original object so that it was small enough to paste into the VP selection, and hit Transform again. That time, the handles were there for me to enlarge it - no problem.

Why would the Transform tool in VP allow me to make my pasted object larger, but not smaller? Or was I just up too late last night? I did search well outside the bounds of the marked VP paste selection, looking for the handles, but couldn't find them. Using CS4 on XP.

Thanks!

I find it frustrating to have to repeat myself to the OP that what I wrote
is to be READ. It's all there in the post.

Reiss is as right as Reign. If a person can view it, he can copy it. Even
text put up as raster images can be put through OCR, even via a plugin, but
I won't point to a source.

I find it disappointing that even I can crack the Acrobat paswwords. (or
could - haven't tried it for a couple years). I'd think Adobe would beef up
the algorithm.

No. The fact that someone is viewing it means the file has been
downloaded. It's in your temp browser folder.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? There might be other
avenues if you can explain a little more in detail.

Actually... buy an external USB hard drive and backup your entire computer... what I use is

Terabyte's Image program makes a full drive image for backup - will span multiple CD/DVD discs or write to a USB hard drive - as far as I know (I have multiple identical 80Gig boot drives which I rotate via removable drive housings, creating a backup and restore before I install or remove any programs) this program goes directly to the drive hardware to backup and restore EVERYTHING on a drive, even the "hidden" parts that software vendors use to store registration information

Dos version is small enough to run off a 3.5 inch boot disk
<http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-dos.htm>

Linux version creates a bootable CD, use if you have a USB mouse or keyboard (the DOS version won't work if you have a USB mouse or keyboard) or if you don't have a 3.5 inch boot disk
<http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm>

A new thought:

I have enabled the "Force Bilinear Interpolation" Option in the advanced tab of the performance-settings.

No Crash since then. Might be a workaround, or I might have been lucky:)

I also changed the settings in my Nvidia Driver to "Performance Mode Single-GPU" but the Driver does not remember this setting permanently but keeps changing it to "Compatibility-Performance Mode" every time, the machine is restarted.

Still no official driver update from Nvidia.

Just wanted to add that I'm having the incomplete cursor problem too, on my second (Cintiq) and third monitor only. The primary monitor works fine, but since I paint on my Cintiq it sucks. I'm on XP. Changing the Cintiq to primary via the display function doesn't help. Lowering the Hardware Acceleration does work, but I don't want to do that just for PS CS4!

I have a Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT and had the up-to-date driver version 178.24, which didn't help. So updated to the beta 180.43(dated 23/10/08) which still doesn't help.

Anyway I'll report it to Nvidia, so I hope they do a fix on the beta but I'm not holding my breath.

Attention AOL Users, Please use Internet Explorer to view my pages to make sure you can see the newest items.

Please follow these rules when entering your names:

Please follow these rules when entering your names:
**No Requests are taken thru email.

**No Email addresses or Websites allowed for names.

**No curse words or sexual related words, if its a word that I think is unappropriate, it will not be added.

**No Special Characters - a lot of the Fonts used do not have these characters.

**Use Limited Punctuation -  If names requested have punctuation and if my scripts or fonts allow them they will be made, but try not to request them unless it is something you know you received in the past,  Please rember not all tags will look right.  I know you cannot request apostrophes, such as Sue's  - but if you are on my always list i can enter them, but the script i use for requests messes the names up with apostrophes

**Remember I will do couple tags, but they may not look good. as they will be too long.

**Do Not request Names that you have already had added to SigTags4u Always List

**Do Not use Accents on names, if you enter names with accents they will be deleted and no tag will be made.

**There is no limit, just make sure you keep up with the names you request.

**Remember Longs Names might not fit and not look good (please limit names to 10 Characters or less)  If you request a long name it will be made, but I am not responsible for how it looks.  On some tags they will look fine, but many people want small tags so i do try to make smaller tags from time to time.
