Hep Seninleyim

Hayret!
Ruhumun içinde
Ta en derininde bir yerlerde
Nasıl da saklamışım
Ben seni ki….
Gözümün önünde her an
O asil çevren varken…
Kulaklarımda
Ve seni duymak istediğimde
Her an sesin çınlarken …
Dudaklarımda dudaklarının
Sıcaklığını hissettiğimde
Ilık nefesin tenimde….
Burnumda her an
Saçlarının o mis gibi kokusunu
Kokluyorum doyasıya…
Ben seni,
Sen yokken bile
Senle yaşıyorum birtanem…….
Meğer seni
Ne kadar çok seviyormuşum
Bunu şimdi daha iyi anladım
Sarmaşıklar gibi
Sevgin yüreğime kök salmış…
Kalbimin tek hakimi olmuşsun
Benim biricik sevdiğim,aşkım….
Ben şimdi
Nemi yapıyorum
Ne yaptığımı mı soruyorsun
Bunu nasıl bilemezsin ki
Günün yirmi dört saati
Özlemle seni anıyorum
Seni düşünüyorum
Senle yaşıyorum…..

Kendime Öyle İyi Bakacağım Ki Bilemezsin'

Merak etme bu ayrılık bana hiç dokunmaz
Hafif geçer sızıları
Gözyaşları susar da hiç akmaz hazan olur dökülür gül..
Her dem şakıyan gönül gibi
Lal olur da hiç konuşmaz bülbül
Yarı karanlık gecelerde söz dinlemez bazıları
Göz kapalı gönül kapalı onun istediğini sen veremezsin
Kendime öyle iyi bakacağım ki bilemezsin

Bakma gözlerime yağmurdandır hep ıslanmaları
Ağlamayacağım söz
Ya çöp kaçmıştır ya toz
Bin bir söz verdim ya sana
Sabahlara kadar içeceğim ayrılığı kahretsin
Zehir zıkkım olacak günlerim
Her yer bir yıkık bir duman
Sen yoksan her yer tufan
Sokaklara düşecek gözlerim
Seni beklemeyecek bu kez
Eğer sen gelmeyeceksen yoksan

Göçmen kuşlar uçup gelmeyecekler geri
Bir daha olmayacak yaşamayacak bu peri
Sen Mecnun olsan da Leyla'yı böyle sevemezsin
Kendime öyle iyi bakacağım ki bilemezsin

Sabahlara kadar göz kırpmayacağım
Gözlerime kan oturacak çanak çanak
Sesim sessizlikten kısılacak
Duvarlarda sen yankılanacaksın benden ses çıkmayacak,
Uğraşsan da bende sensizliği silemezsin
Kendime öyle iyi bakacağım ki bilemezsin..

Don this sounds plausible but are you really sure about CS3 being the right time-frame for OEM bundling to have stopped? I would have thought bundling because of scanner prices dropping would have occured a LONG time ago--more like Photohop version 6!

It would be so simple if Adobe would just state when they last licensed OEM copies in the U.S.

Did I say CS3? The OEM for Photoshop probably ended before version 5.5.

I don't think Adobe has to publicly address this issue. OEM has not been available for over 10 years, and this is well know by, at least, the regular users of these forums. Anyone claiming to be selling OEM since then is pirating.

OK, that does make much more sense and explains a lot. I'm now convinced there's not likely a legitimate OEM version of CS3 out there so I won't bother to pursue this.

Reading this thread and other online articles about piracy, I understand it's sometime nearly impossible to even recognize pirated software because of the sophisticated packing done by the more serious pirates.

That leaves me with the only logical conclusion--it's much safer to just download a cracked version of Adobe products where you know you can rely on getting a valid and fully working version and always be assured you have the latest version available.

OK, just kidding....just kidding...just kidding!

I guess I'll have to consider buying Adobe Photoshop Elements instead. I just wish the Adobe site had a clear comparison feature for feature of the differences between the two versions so it would be easier for me to decide (for example, I don't do any advanced color management or color profiling of my hardware and I know this is just one of the differences between the two versions).

Oh well...maybe I'll ask that on another thread.

Thanks everyone for your input and from keeping me from potentially wasting money and time with these pirated "OEM" versions.

Did you install the dot release for CS2? (and how did you upgrade to something that old?)

I don't recall any bugs or changes that could cause problems in 1 bit TIFF files.
But my guess is that there is a bug in your word processor's handling of TIFF.

The pixel order should have no effect on 1 bit/channel (and single channel) files.

Hi Chris. Thanks for responding.

I'm not with the I.T. department here at work. The reason I now have CS2 is because the version 7 disc somehow sprouted legs and walked away. (eyeroll) My computer required a reformat and because I wanted Photoshop reinstalled, the I.T. department installed a valid CS2 disc that was sitting on their shelf.

That being said, I'm certain that the bug really lies with BOTH my word processor AND Photoshop CS2. That's why I was hoping someone here might be able to come up with a reason why one version of Photoshop WILL save a file that's usable while another version won't. If the newer version is saving some extra bit of information in the TIF file, what is it and can I possibly get rid of it somehow.

Alternatively, I would need to get my hands on Version 7 somehow. I shudder to upgrade to the lastest version of Photoshop since I worry the problem will still be an issue.

Or, if anyone knows a way to get a 1 bit TIF file out of Adobe Illustrator, that would work too (but I'm quite certain that's impossible)

What I don't understand is why the original poster said Ho's method worked great, when the method gives the exact same result as the method he mentioned he didn't want to use? Really, lens blur is probably what you're after. It will blur every pixel by varying degrees, as opposed to by an alpha mask opacity method, which still shows the unblurred image underneath.

I'm not sure of the reason, but it didn't produce the same results. Just to clarify, the image I was using had text in it. When I used the method I mentioned on my first post, I saw the blurred image, but right at the point when the opacity was around 50% I could still see the completely unblurred image underneath (completely clear and readable text), creating a sort-of glow look around the text.

When I used the method that Ho suggested, the text simply becomes increasingly blurred as you look across the image.

PeterK,

I tried the method you mentioned just to see what the results would look like and, you're right, that came closer to the look I was trying to get.

Ho's method did look better than the original one I mentioned that I had tried, but the lens blur is even better.

Thanks for your suggestion and thank all of you for the help.

Chris,
Thanks for the reply. At ATI support's suggestion, I exchanged my first 4850 for another (they also told me that there's a problem with refresh, but speculated it was due to a defective card). The second card didn't solve the problem. Since OpenGL seems to be related to 2D and 3D graphics, I can't imagine I have any programs also using OpenGL on my system. Don't use 3D; I'm not a gamer. As for utilities, I'm using Norton Internet Security 2009; Diskeeper (I turned off auto defrag and it didn't make any difference). Other programs I have running in the background: X1 (turning that off, made no difference); restoredesktop; DSentry; Epson print driver; Googleupdate; a bunch of services; and a few other files I don't know much about but don't believe are related to graphics.

Can you suggest any programs that might interfere with the OpenGL function in PS that might be common but unrelated to graphics? If it's related to hardware: motherboard, CPU, RAID motherboard controller, type of memory (DDR3), I'm not sure how I can test that without re-configuring my system entirely.

Sure would like to solve this problem.

Could be a screensaver, or something that just uses OpenGL for drawing (video, etc.).
For some users it has been bad settings in ATI (or NVidia) control panels.

Normal maps contain the direction of a surface point with the vector components encoded as RGB channels. Changing their intensity would result in wrong directions and incorrect rendering... Without specific precautions this would be of no use except to inflate the object until it looks like a ball (as you merely ramp up the length of the vector without compensating for angular deviation). More something for dedicated sculpting tools...

Run the CS4 Clean Utility to unregister all Adobe components you may have on your system (including the debris from your failed installs) and try again. Also make sure to close all unnecessary apps during install. If that doesn't help, then it's quite possible that this is something specific with AMD processors and it may require some fiddling with your BIOS and/or installing some AMD specific patches manually...

I have been receiving some very simple files from a colleague and her file sizes are a 10th of what mine are. The confusing part is she is sending them in CMYK and I convert them to RGB. Theoretically they should be smaller. Dimensions and resolution are exactly the same and both are 8 bits per channel and no color profiles. She might be using an older version of Photoshop than me (currently CS3). Anyone have any ideas?

Deactivate it on the old computer and install it. Have the earlier CD
and serial number handy for verification.

Barry sent this in awhile back and it's been sitting on my desktop. The animation really isn't all that great, but I loved the tube and the scrap......

This will probably be my last creation until next Tuesday. We are leaving early tomorrow morning to drive over to Cape Coral to spend time with my son and his family. A Brady fix!! While the guys go to see Red Sox baseball games, we'll stay home and "play".

I think I'll bring my laptop along, at least I can read mail, but won't be able to create.

No matter how much RAM I add to a machine, the only setting in RAM allocation
I can use in Photoshop is limited to what Photoshop reports it can see,
and that is 3072 MB.

Although apps can only directly address ~3 GB RAM, Mac OS X works with the apps to effectively utilize much more than that. E.g. Adobe engineer Adam Jerugim in 2008 posted: "CS4 (running on OS 10.5.x) will take advantage of all the RAM you have in your system as long as VM OS buffering is active (up to 32GB - I haven't tested more than that)."

The ability under Mac OS X to access large amounts of inexpensive RAM is a big benefit to the tower configuration.

Allen,

Since I am planning on getting a new Mac I went looking on my PS CS4 CD and I didn't see any plug-in by that name. Is it something that is automatically installed on an Intel Mac?

John Nack has stated that CS5 will be 64bit

And Chris Cox has said "All we've said we're doing is rewriting the UI code"

So can just writing the UI code make PSCS5 64bit?

Yes, the barrier to going 64 bit on Macintosh is Apple's deprecation of Carbon UI APIs and forcing applications to redo their UI code using Cocoa.

Obviously whatever they are doing CAN make CS5 run in a 64-bit environment or John Nack and others would not have stated publicly that "CS5 for Mac will be 64-bit"!

I would be surprised if you could stuff the Quad with 4 x 4 gig chips for an actual max of 16 GB. Apple did this before with low end G5 tower RAM as a way of allowing a lower entry price point without cannibalizing high end sales.

Opinion: with PS files averaging 500-900mb in size, 16gb should be enough memory shouldn't it?

Yes, but that was ONLY because of less slots, not because the low-end couldn't accept larger capacity sticks than the high-end. All models of that generation can (still) only accept 1 gig sticks.

This is different.

Of course, it's possible that Apple has instilled something in the new Quad to prevent it from recognizing 4 gig sticks, but given the RAM is the same in all models with the same specs, that's not clear at this point. Time will tell.

Remember, according to Apple, my early 2008 Macbook can only accept up to 4 GB of RAM and yet, I can install 6 GB. <http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/5300DDR2S6GP/>

You might as well look for freeware image editors as Photoshop 3 was so feature deficient by the advent of OS9.

If you really want to run Photoshop, I'd look for a more recent release. The last version of Photoshop to work in SheepShaver (OS9.0.4) should be version 6 (I run 5.5 myself). Version 7 required OS9.1.

In addition to Photoshop, the following image editors work in SheepShaver (OS9.0.4):

* xRes 2
* Painter 3.1
* Corel Photo-Paint 8 LE

I think I picked up all of these for free on magazine coverdiscs. You might find them downloadable somewhere as well.

Photoshop 2.5.1 thru 6 had this format it totaled 17 digits.

to connect with the new laptops.

I think you're right Neil - at the Apple Store one of the accessories you can order with the Mac Pro is an adapter from the Mini Display port to DVI. Neat. Can anyone say ADC?

It's got to be done so off we go…

Keep files that contain photographic images and gradients in 16-bit for as long as possible; and save your layered Master files as 16-bit RGB.

There are a few filters which still only work in 8-bit and you might have to convert to 8-bits if you really need to use them. But examine the possibility of using them in a separate file with a Smart Object from your original image.

32-bit is for special purposes such as when using HDR.

jezzthisisfull, here's a passage from Photoshop CS4: The Missing Manual <http://books.google.com/books?id=f38qA2yg0PYC&pg=PA43&lpg=PA43&dq=how+many+colors+per+channel+32-bit&source=bl&ots=yk1MHp_lAt&sig=OPINN_prhJDcUNSypzOUh1AwxbA> that shed some light on this for me. Here's an explanation of bit depth <http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-73daa.html> on Adobe's site.

It's easy to get confused, especially with the mix of "bit" usage when it comes to 8-bit per channel vs. 16-bit per channel vs. a 24-bit image, etc.

Ann, could you explain "special purposes" 32-bit and HDR? I'm not familiar with it, so I'd appreciate it if you could explain it a bit further. I agree with you that staying in 16-bit as long as possible could be beneficial, especially when generated computer gradients where the transitions are much smoother. However, the concern is that when the image is converted to 32-bit ( CMYK ), or a typical 8-bit RGB, the additional bit information ( if any ) will get tossed, but will retain a smoother gradient than an original 8-bit counterpart. For instance, when someone saves their 16-bit ProPhoto RGB image ( a superwide gamut space ), then converts to 8-bit Adobe RGB, and then converts to SWOP CMYK, the additional gamut found in the ProPhoto RGB will be clipped or reduced down to the Adobe RGB gamut. But, even if you retain the 16-bit ProPhoto RGB and go straight to SWOP CMYK, the color will be clipped to fit inside the SWOP space. More color, more gamut? I'm not so sure.

Please, keep the bit counts as per-channel to reduce confusion.

32 bit should mean 32 bits per channel (integer or floating point), not 8 bit per channel times 4 channels, or 16 bit per channel times two channels.
There are 16 bit integers, and floating point formats -- not just 8 bit per channel times two channels, or 5 bits per channel times 3 channels plus a mask bit.
There are 24 bit floating point formats -- not just 8 bit per channel times 3 channels.
etc.

Referring to an image as 32 bit just allows for too many possible interpretations of the bits.
Say what you mean: 32 bit per channel, or 8 bit per channel CMYK, or 8 bit per channel RGBA, etc.

This a huge, complicated and confusing subject which cannot be explained in a few lines here:

Trying to take your questions one by one:

32-bit and HDR: This is a procedure where you can combine a number of digital photographs which were taken with differing exposures for the highlights and for the shadows and combine them into a single image in order to retain a wider dynamic range. (The results that I have seen from the use of this technique have mostly been somewhat bizarre and perfectly hideous!).

For instance, when someone saves their 16-bit ProPhoto RGB image ( a superwide
gamut space ), then converts to 8-bit Adobe RGB, and then converts to
SWOP CMYK, the additional gamut found in the ProPhoto RGB will be clipped
or reduced down to the Adobe RGB gamut.

We need to break that down a bit:

Saves their 16-bit ProPhoto RGB image ( a superwide gamut space ): Correct.

Then re-opens [or duplicates], the Saved 16-bit ProPhoto RGB image and
converts to 8-bit Adobe RGB:

That produces an RGB file which has been "clipped" to fit the smaller AdobeRGB space — but it is still a 16-bit file.

and then converts to SWOP CMYK:

Now you have CONVERTED your RGB colors to generate printing plates that will produce as close a replica as you can get to your Soft-preview of your (current) AdobeRGB image when printed on a Press which EXACTLY matches the conditions dictated by the CMYK Profile that you used.

But you still have a 16-bit per Channel file — UNTIL you change the Image mode to 8 Bits.

if you retain the 16-bit ProPhoto RGB and go straight to SWOP CMYK, the
color will be clipped to fit inside the SWOP space.

Not exactly: Your RGB image will be mapped to individual C, M, and Y Plates, and a Black plate will be generated (using the attributes of your specified CMYK Profile concerning GCR and Total Ink) in order to give you the best reproduction on Press (when real INK hits PAPER!) of your original RGB image.

But do read more on this subject because it is supremely important that you understand it fully.

I highly recommend Dan Margulis' "Professional Photoshop" for gaining a better understanding of this subject.

thanks, those links in particular were very helpful

"All tools in the toolbox, except the Art History Brush tool, can be used with 16‑bpc images."

actually it was the Art History Brush tool which led me to ask this question

since I am drawing 2D images and use liquify and other filters semi-frequently I think I'll just stick to 8 bit for now...maybe switch with CS 6 or 7 in the future...

Unless someone would suggest a better workflow? These are huge 4k images with 50+ layers and many smart objects...almost all drawn with brush tools.

So, sticking with 8 bits should be fine?

Thanks so much again...all replies were very helpful
