Bu sana veda ederken son bakış, son gülücük,
Bu sana kalbimden kopan
son öpücük
Sana yıllar yılı büyüttüğüm aşk
Ne yazık ellerinde artık küçücük

Sandın ki ne yaparsan yap yanındayım ben
Acıyı ihaneti taşımak zorundayım ben
Yapamam gidemem sandın ki vazgeçemem
Artik yalnız geçmişte anındayım ben

Bu sana veda ederken son bakış, son gülücük,
Bu sana kalbimden kopan son öpücük
Sana yıllar yılı büyüttüğüm aşk
Ne yazık ellerinde artık küçücük

Sandın ki ne yaparsan yap yanındayım ben
Acıyı ihaneti taşımak zorundayım ben
Yapamam gidemem sandın ki vazgeçemem
Artik yalnız geçmişte anındayım ben

Bu sana veda ederken son bakış, son gülücük,
Bu sana kalbimden kopan son öpücük

Sana yıllar yılı büyüttüğüm aşk
Ne yazık ellerinde artık küçücük

Bu sana ilk elvedam son sözlerimdir
Bu sana en içten yazdığım hislerimdir
Ve sana yıllar yılı haykıramadığım gerçek aşkımı bitiren
Gizli sandığın ihanetindir.

James you are not making sense.

this forum has nothing to do with registering your software. not only that nobody in the forum can help you with serial numbers. Incase you missed it, this is a user to user forum.

you must speak with customer service.

James S, you need to phone Adobe in whatever country you are in to tell them of your problem. Their system will not let you register because your serial number has already been used (by you).
You do not need to register, you need to re-activate. Speak to Adobe, they will sort it out for you.
Geoff.

Monitor profile may be incorrect.

What are your using color management settings?

Thanks for the reply, Bart.

That was my first guess, too. My Samsung monitor was profiled using a colorimiter, so I disabled that profile and tried again. The white in PS CS4 is still FFFEDC.

I did a little more experimenting with these results:

White swatches are FFFFFF in Windows Paint and ACDSee Photo Manager, with or without the monitor profile active. White swatches are always FFFEDC in PS CS4.

I can get white as FFFFFF in a PS image by moving the white slider left in the Levels adjustment panel to the left. Then, I tried to sample the FFFFFF color with the eyedropper, and the sample is FFFEDC again! This is driving me crazy.

The PS color settings are using the Adobe RGB (1998) colorspace.

I've been told by support that I need to un-install CS4, and re-install it and the patch in order to rectify my problem. The cause of the problem they are saying is a failed application of the patch.

Is this a bunch of BS to keep me busy for a while? How do I know that the next time everything will install correctly?

This will take some time to do, and I'll have to figure out how to backup all my settings/scripts.

I know that Ping said that the issue may be related to OpenGL, but I think that she's mistaken, despite being a Photoshop QE.

This issue has to do with the Adobe OS Widget Library (OWL), and is something that can be easily reproduced.

OWL is effectively a skin over the top of the Windows API, and doesn't seem to be consistently covering the Photoshop API. I've seen this issue with Illustrator CS4 as well, but it's harder to reproduce.

To reproduce, open a modal dialog (like Image Size or Levels adjustment). It's not entirely consistent, but happens most of the time.

Here are a couple of screen shots:

Did it. No change.

I still get NO GPU options available with Photoshop standard in
Edit/Preferences/Performance/GPU Settings.

What next?

I do not get FAQs in a news reader.

Thanks

These are exactly what I am seeing.

Does a fix exist?

While there isn't a fix for this, this only occurs with the Windows Classic theme on XP. If you switch to one of the other XP display themes, you can workaround this.

Mylenium is correct - a repair of your installation may be in order.
This issue will occur if you're missing one or more files in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\2.0\bin\ folder.

So, make sure you have read&write access to that bin folder if it exists and has 3 files and a folder within it.

If this folder is missing, then start your installer from the original media (DVD or downloaded files) and click the Reinstall option to start.

if you're on XP 64-bit, then OpenGL is disabled by default. see:

<http://www.adobe.com/go/kb406921>

To fix performance issues, install the 11.0.1 update (and the latest drivers for your graphics card).

Try turning off AA, AF and trilinear filtering in the GTX 295 software or a combo there of. Some people on here mentioned that turning off trilinear filtering helped.

@djw: I completely agree. I simply can't recommend Dell's XT2 to any of my graphic design buddies if it doesn't support the basic pen features we're used to. Especially given the price.

I also question N-Trig's support... they don't seem to even recognize that a problem exist or at least state they're working on a solution in the future.

Oh well, looks like I'm going with the Lenovo's ThinkPad X Tablet for now.

I do illustrative site plans for an architecture firm. I frequently use the magic wand to create selections in pdf's created from a CAD system. I usually import them as a smart object so that they may be updated regularly as design changes are made. However, in CS4, I am finding it very difficult for the magic wand to make selections in between lines of a pdf. No matter what I set the tolerance at, it seems to select more than the area that I am trying to select. I recently installed all updates and it worked for one day and then returned to making incorrect selections. I need some help or advice.

Thanks,
Caleb Schultz

Even if saved without maximum compatibility (aka without a flattened version of the preview), older versions of Photoshop should be able to open the file and see the layers. The exception would be old versions that don't support 16 or 32 bit layers (assuming you had a 16 or 32 bit document).

If your teacher tried to open the file in another application that can't read the layers -- then she would only see the "you didn't save a composite" warning.
