Crackled Paint SB Tut by Deanne's Designs l  February 2, 2009   Written for PSP 9   Supplies Needed: Tube or mist of choice (taller than wide is best)   Mask - fuzzetty_small  (here or here)   Plugins Needed: Impressionist (here)   FM Tile Tools (here)   Preparation: Install plugins, if needed   Save mask to your PSP Masks folder   Notes: All settings will remain the same unless otherwise noted   Time to play!!   1.  File > Open Tube of choice   2.  Window > Duplicate (Shift + D) Close original   3.  Image > Resize Settings: Resample using = Smart Size Lock aspect ratio = checked Resize all layers = checked Width = will self-adjust Height = 350 Pixels or less   4.  Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen   5.  Dropper Tool Left click to pick a light Foreground color.  Right click to pick a medium Background color   6.  Edit > Copy Minimize for now   7.  File > New Settings: Width = 300 Pixels Height = 400 Pixels Raster Background = checked Transparent = checked   8.  Flood Fill Tool Settings: Match mode = None Sample merged = unchecked Blend mode = Normal Opacity = 100 Left click to fill with foreground color   9.  Selections > Select All   10.  Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection   11.  Selections > Select None   12.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling Settings: Default (Click on curved arrow at the top to set to default settings)   13.  Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur Settings: Radius = 20   14.  Effects > Plugins > Impressionist > Impressionist Settings: Style = Natural > Tinfoil - Opaque Background = Foreground Color Brush Size = 100% Coverage = 95% Pressure = 100   15.  Layers > New Raster Layer   16.  Flood Fill Tool Left click to fill with Foreground color   17.  Layers Palette Lower opacity of fill layer (I used 70) *Note - You want the patterned layer to show through but not be quite so bold   18.  Layers > Merge > Merge Down   19.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling   20.  Effects > Plugins > Impressionist > Impressionist Settings: Style = Watercolor > Spatter Background = Background Color Brush Size = 100% Coverage = 75% Pressure = 100   21.  Effects > Plugins > FM Tile Tools > Blend Emboss Settings: (Default) Horiz. offset = minus 1 Vert. offset = minus 1 Intensity = .250 Grey level = 64 Red Blend = .938 Green Blend = .938 Blue Blend = .938 Edge wrap = checked   22.  Layers > Load/Save Mask > Load Mask From Disk Settings: Mask = fuzzetty_small Source luminance = checked Fit to canvas = checked Invert transparency = checked Hide all mask = checked   23.  Layers > Merge > Merge Group   24.  Image > Mirror   25.  Layers > Load/Save Mask > Load Mask From Disk   26.  Layers > Merge > Merge Group   27.  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow Settings: Vertical & Horizontal = 1 Opacity = 55 Blur = 0 Color = black (or your background color) Shadow on new layer = unchecked   28.  Selection Tool > Custom Selection Settings: Top = 0 Left = 100 Right = 200 Bottom = 400   29.  Layers > New Raster Layer   30.  Flood Fill Tool Left click to fill with Foreground color   31.  Effects > Plugins > Impressionist > Impressionist Settings: Style = Paint > Craquelure Surface Background = Foreground color Brush Size = 100% Pressure 105   32.  Layers Palette Lower opacity to 60 (or as desired)   33.  Selections > Select None   34.  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow Settings: Vertical & Horizontal = 0 Opacity = 45 Blur = 5 Color = black   35.  Layers > Merge > Merge Down   36.  Adjust > Sharpness > Unsharp Mask Settings: Radius = 10 Strength = 20 Clipping = 5 Luminance only = unchecked   37.  Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Clarify Settings: Strength of Effect = 2   38.  Layers > Duplicate   39.  Layers > Merge > Merge Visible   40.  Selections > Select All   41.  Selections > Float   42.  Selections > Defloat   43.  Selections > Modify > Contract Settings: Number of  pixels = 2   44.  Selections > Invert   45.  Edit > Clear   46.  Selections > Select None   47.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling Settings: Edge = checked Vertical = checked Width (%) = 51 Transition (%) = 50   48.  Edit > Paste > Paste As New Layer (Your tube)   49.  Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel Settings: Bevel = #2 Width = 10 Smoothness = 0 Depth = 3 Ambience = 12 Shininess = 0 Color = white Angle = 315 Intensity = 30 Elevation = 50   *Optional if using a misted tube 50.  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow Settings: Opacity = 65 Blur = 10 Color = black   51.  Image > Canvas Size Settings: Width = 1800 (or your preference) Height = 400 Pixels Lock aspect ratio = not checked Placement = Left middle arrow   52.  Layers > New Raster Layer   53.  Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom   54.  Flood Fill Tool Left click to fill with Foreground color   55.  Selections > Select All   56.  Edit > Paste > Paste Into Selection (Your tube)   57.  Selections > Select None   58.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling Settings: Default   59.  Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur   60.  Effects > Plugins > Impressionist > Impressionist Settings: Style = Natural > Tinfoil - Opaque Background = Foreground Color   61.  Layers > New Raster Layer   62.  Flood Fill Tool Left click to fill with Foreground color   63.  Effects > Plugins > Impressionist > Impressionist Settings: Style = Paint > Craquelure Surface Background = Foreground Color   64.  Layers Palette Lower opacity to 70 - 80 *Note - You want the patterned layer to show through but not "overpower" the Craquelure layer   65.  Layers > Merge > Merge Down   66.  Effects > Plugins > FM Tile Tools > Blend Emboss   67.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling   *Optional steps - if you want to add a little more color to your background, continue with steps 68 - 70.  If you're happy with your background, go on to step 71. 68.  Layers > New Raster Layer   69.  Flood Fill Tool Flood fill with your choice of colors   70.  Layers Palette Lower opacity of fill layer, allowing  the textured pattern to show through but also text friendly   71.  Layers > New Raster Layer   72.  Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top   73.  Apply watermark   74.  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer Settings: Set compression value to 10 - 15   All finished!!
