Are your file sizes similar in size to mine?

we will have like 30 pics open at once in Photoshop

Yes, and bigger, but I don't have that many open. In any case, your scratch disk will be very busy, but around 100 GB should still be enough.

You can do the partitioning in Admin Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management.

Awesome. Thanks to Freeagent and everyone else who helped with this issue. You guys are awesome! Its great there are forums like this with knowledgeable people. You would think that after dropping $700 on CS3 adobe would offer more tech support but I guess thats a typical software company for you!
Anyhow, thanks again everyone!

Mark

Hi H.Kent Shirley , did u try to update via Updater or via patcher ? Patcher can be download from Adobe.com > download > updates.

Close all the applications before installing and then try to install again.

The OGL sharpness is a known item

That's what I thought. Something has to give when x image pixels are represented by x/y screen pixels.

F,

Just turn off OGL unless you need it for something specific. Sharpness with OGL is a known problem and for many at all resoltuions. But as a test, you can open the same image in other apps that use OGL (and I have tried 10 others) and --- ta da -- no problem.

that doesn't seem like any kind of solution. i though OGL was a big part of this upgrade and many of the newest coolest features rely on it...? which is it?

Used the downloaded patch. Updates grayed out in photoshop. Tried help>updates from bridge. Have all windows updates, no virus running,
have admin privileges. Still no luck...Thanks

DM

Only advice I can give based on the knowledge that I have. For me, improves overall speed and clears bluryness issue. I do all my 3D stuff in AE, so not really a good person on this topic --- right tool for the job.

As for not any kind of solution... Correct. The PS team will fix the code, it is an important part of the CS4 value proposition. 523 does address several of the OGL issues that I (and others) facing.

No question, folks are working the issues.

The trick is: when the 11.0.2 will be out?

That's right, Chris... and even when I turn it off, it seems erratic as to whether or not the scaling works. I just tried it again and couldn't get it to work without the program error message even when I turned it off. I suspect that if I reboot the whole machine it might work but I'm not sure. Something is buggy in there.

It might be this easy. Keep in mind I'm accustomed to doing this two versions back. I'm incredibly behind on several deadlines and don't have time to do the testing necessary to see if I have it or not. I'm working between multiple sites etc. and am getting inconsistent results atm *but* your idea has worked in some cases. Where it isn't it might be cache-related (although I dumped). Thank you. I'll try to get back with a definitive yes or more details on what's not working. Thank you for answering what seems a really goofy question.

For earlier posts: 1) yes, I'm using "Save for Web & Devices..." and 2) I was unable to get adding a layer for the background color to work, but, as I mention above, I'm scrambling right now and it's really easy for something which should be obvious whizzing right past me, what with new Photoshop on one hand and on the other my rushing.

No, caps lock is not on. This affects any tool that has the size can be adjusted on. The Healing brush, clone stamp and so on.

Agreed but I couldn't log on to the forum if the caps lock was on, my log in info is all lower case. I should have been more clear but I do appreciate all the help.

Hi, I am new to Photoshop and am learning my way through it, but I can't figure this one out. I am taking stills from an animation of a land based radar setup for monitoring sea ice. In photoshop, I use the path tool to delineate the edge of the landfast ice, and I want to save the line only with the pixel coordinates, so I can put that line on any image from the animations and it will be in the same place. Thanks
Josh

Willy; I downloaded the fonts. Thank you. We'll be testing them shortly (as soon as my QE partner gets back from lunch :-).

Just to confirm that fonts are the cause: could you remove all the fonts that are not Microsoft fonts, reboot, then launch Photoshop? If it works, that should confirm that the fonts are the cause.

(why are people not reading the thread before posting?)

Ron - we've seen the incomplete cursor. We've shown it to NVidia, repeatedly. But we can't fix the bug in their driver code.

Dennis - again, the fix has to come from NVidia, the bug is in their code. NVidia thinks they now have it fixed in all of their drivers. If it isn't fixed on your system, then you have to contact NVidia and give them details so they can track down whatever it is that they missed. Ignore your laptop manufacturer and get the driver from NVidia.

(No, Adobe Gamma is dead and buried, not pining for the fjords....)

Have you asked about this on the SDK mailing list?
Or contacted the Adobe product manager who works with third party plugin developers?

We maintain pretty active communication with third party developers.
