Don,

I'm not sure. Of course, this is a development problem but this is also a lasting communication problem between Adobe and third-party addin developers.

Since I'm not aware of any document produced by Adobe explaining how to avoid what appears to be a common programming mistake and since on the other hand, a lot of third-party developers don't seem to be aware of this SDK pitfall, I'd like users that are not developers to be able to tell the third-party support: "Hey, this is a known problem. Please just have a look there.". They don't need to understand what the programming problem is. They need to be able to give the information to the relevant technical support.

This is why I'd like this information (or a link to it) published in a forum that a "normal" user is supposed to visit: this one. Not the SDK forum.

contact sheet maker and is light years beyond what Adobe had in the old

As Bob L mentioned it is unsupported but it should still work. That said; do you have proper privileges to install software ? Any anti-malware software running should be disabled as well. Do you have current system upgrades installed ?

CS4 64 bit tells me that my graphic board is not longer accepted and I have to ugrade card or driver.
I use a Geforce 8800GT in my system and the lastest Nvidia driver.
CS4 32 bit recognizes the card correctly. This is nice and also a lot faster then before but I need the 64bit version with hardware acceleration.
Any ideas to help me? I havn't done any hardware changes.

This is what my system info with 64 bit cs 4 says. I can't enable the button under performance activating the hardware acceleration.

Do you think that same setup will work for me Freeagent? Are your file sizes similar in size to mine? I don't know if it matters or not, but often times when working on wedding images, we will have like 30 pics open at once in Photoshop... Does that affect how I should setup my cpu at all?

Also, does anyone recommend a particular company's partition utility? I think Vista Ultimate has one that comes with it....

Yes, and bigger, but I don't have that many open. In any case, your scratch disk will be very busy, but around 100 GB should still be enough.

You can do the partitioning in Admin Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management.

Screensaver causes 11.0.1 ("upgraded" yesterday) to crash. I'm pretty sure it was stable before I did the online upgrade, but now every time my windows screensaver kicks in, Photoshop goes into cardiac arrest.
The Photoshop screen won't refresh properly and Photoshop eventually closes.

Hello folks,

Currently I'm struggling with a stock agency on a few images where the rejection is for "Artifact" and "Noise". First, let me ask - are these the same? They sometimes list these problems independently. They state that "camera setting and RAW processing are the likely cause". I don't "think" my camera settings are the problem - 100 ISO, 16.7mp RAW's.

So the question is this; how do I tell if I have these issues in a file? They are inspected at 100%.

Next, if I have these issues, what is the best way to fix them? I know of the noise reduction filter, however, not sure of the best settings. Or, should I be considering 3rd party software?
