So go and discuss Slide Shows of that kind in a Forum that is dedicated to an Application that was designed for that purpose — such as Adobe Premier.

Personally I find "Transitions" both tacky and tedious beyond measure — but you can add those to Bridge-made Galleries if you are so inclined.

Most of us use Galleries as a way of showcasing our work on-line; and just want a clean, clear and crisp presentation without the sort of bandwidth hogging frills that you are talking about.

Hmm... I see it far differently. Exactly opposite, in fact. I have tried to be as sociable as possible on this topic but you keep pushing the envelope of acceptable forum decorum. Ask yourself this: who cast the first stone? And the second, third and forth? We'll let the members judge for themselves.

Interesting that as soon as someone doesn't happen to agree with you, the insults start flying. You have no quarrels in dishing it out and when someone dares to step on your toes...my, my the haughty attitude creeps in.

I'm done with this. Have yourself a nice day.

In my new test, I realized there was a difference between the size of the new file (500x500 px) and my existing files (many around 1280x1280 px). So I resized the canvas of the new file to 1280x1280 and the problem occurred again. I tested at 1000x1000, 600x600, and 501x501 with the same results. I went back to 500x500 and I was able select text normally.

Why are you pressing Command?

To exit the edit text mode.

The Enter key alone does it for me, without Command. That's why I was asking.

Thanks Ping, I realize this and discussed the bars in a related thread <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7ff72/15> but I've come to realize that I don't like the their horizontal design and how it forces me to move my cursor so far from the canvas (the way my workspace is setup).

I feel in this case things like turning off tabs or moving the option bar aren't worth the impact on my workflow (which I'm still constantly experimenting with!) than simply moving my mouse just a little further to make the tooltip disappear.

But hopefully someone from Adobe will see this as something to tweak for a future udpate!

I know it's a stupid question but in illustrator I can add in a decimal....in photoshop I am told that I cannot.

Why is this?

Thanks in advance.

I want to know if it's possible to select a layer from the layer palette start dragging it and move it to another open document while in tabbed view. It is possible when each document is in a separate window.

I am on OS X 10.4.11 with CS 4 11.0.1

Thanks.

Did you move the layer (with the Move Tool) on top of the tab of the target document?

EDITED the previous message:

In any event: You can temporarily drag any of the tabs to tear it off and have a floating window. You can then drag the layer from another file, then Consolidate All to Tabs (Window > Arrange >) the window back to the tabbed arrangement.

Yes, it's possible ... in a slow, sticky kind of way. You have to drag the layer and hold over the targeted tab for a few seconds - that document will eventually come into view and allow the drop.

It's a bit frustrating but it's certainly more efficient and faster than tearing off tabs and re-docking.

Nod, use move tool to drag the the layer you want to move directly, do not drag the layer icon

My bad ...

I could've sworn I've done this from the layer pallet before - but you're right, only seems to work by dragging layers from the image area. (which is dumb)

In that case, if you absolutely need to do this via layer icons, I think the most efficient solution would be to use the image tile feature. Dragging from the layers pallet DOES work with that method. :)

Ramon, tell that Firefox story to any of the hundreds of complainers on the bitchfest web sites. FF 2 has never had a problem. 3 was a FPOC.
I'm going to wait for Safari 4.2.1, even though my hatred of 3.2 whatever grows by every passing minute.

Welles -

Unlike some I like the tabs at the top. They are simply placed in the
location of window title bars which does make sense to me.

I told myself I'd give it some time to get acclimated but the tabs at the top just felt wrong. I realize you gain a bit of vertical space but with my default page of 15 tabs, it felt really cramped up there. I also kept thinking I had a single page open because there were no tabs at the bottom.

One other thing I changed was to revert back to the old way of the blue page-loading progress bar in the URL area, rather than the small spinning wheel off to the right. It was just too subtle. The only problem in doing this is that you no longer have a reload button, but I use a programmed mouse button for that anyway.

I'm still exploring but I do like the top sites feature.

The customized CSS style sheet I use to block ads works as usual. Didn't even think to disable it prior to install and there were no problems.

Overall, it's a great upgrade. The speed is fab! :-)

Hi Ann,

I haven't moved or renamed the program. I just open it from the dock as usual to use it. I did try it through Bridge last night and it says the same thing.

Chris, I ran Tech Tool pro 5 on my computer last night and everything seems fine. I am still not able to install. I looked carefully to see what it says and it reads:
Done With Error
Photoshop 11.0.1 - Failed to install.

It does not give any error number.

Basically I see it downloading, it scans the update, then tells me to shut Photoshop and run the installation again, it appears to do this again and finishes up with the message that it 'Failed to install'.

Downloading directly from Adobe basically does the same thing, though my Photoshop program is already off. It delivers a folder which I open and double click and the rest does the same as above.

I'd like to be able to fix this so your suggestions are most welcome.

Hi Linns

It seems that your Photoshop app is still running in the background and has not quit properly , can you close , restart and then try to patch again.

In case you see the failure again , please send the logs from following location

aum logs - Volume/User/"User Name"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Updater 6/aum.log

Installer log - volume/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/Adobe Photoshop CS4 11.0 log.gz
