Working in an Euroland magazine (Southernmost corner)...
I'd try an RGB file with a less wide space (AdobeRGB(1998), for instace) or...
ISO Coated Fogra27 or ISO Coated v2 (www.eci.org).
I'd avoid sending a ProPhoto RGB.

Yes, Gustavo is right, IMO.
See p.19,20 here:
<http://www.fho-emden.de/~hoffmann/labproof15092008.pdf>
AdobeRGB(1998) and ISOcoated v2 eci.icc are cooperating
very well - nothing lost.
Attention: it's a 3.4 Mbyte doc.
No further comments in the moment because of travelling
to Andalusia.

Thanks, Gustavo and Gernot. Not so sure about you, J... ;-)
What I forgot to mention in my OP is that I'm sometimes asked for a CMYK file, but not specified to any particular profile. That rings some warning bells with me, like asking for 300 ppi but not specifying dimensions (that happens too).
So can I assume that if I send, say, ISO Coated Fogra27 - and say so - that this profile will be honored and used and that's the way it goes to print? This is normal and accepted practice? Because if those profiles mentioned correspond roughly to AdobeRGB that will do nicely for me.
The reason I'd like to hear people' opinions on this, is simply that I've seen some horrible proofs here (not mine), obviously involving some strange profile juggling. I don't want to fall into any traps.

This a question for a Dreamweaver forum, however if you can change the HTML code for your menu item you could add TARGET="blank" like this HREF="http://www.nnnnnnnnnnnn.co.uk" TARGET="_blank".
This will open your slide show in a new window so when you close it your web site will still be in view. There are other ways to do it but this way is quite easy.

cannot get back to my home page.
Not even with the Back button on the browser?
You need to put a link back to your home page on the index page that Photoshop created.

Many thanks Geoff!! Target worked. The back button worked only if you backed through all of the pics; and a link on the index page only removed part of that page.

On my home and work computer I have Photoshop CS3 installed. Both the home computer and my work computer have the default
installation with no configuration changes.
When I open an image file (any foramt) on my work computer in photoshop CS3 the images appear to be filtered in a way that
while open in photoshop CS3 the images have a rich golden look and appear sharper. The original files are very pale like
sun bleached drift wood. If I save the images and open them in other applications the the images look like the original
files (pale bleached look) and do not retain the adjusted look. When I open the same files on my home computer in CS3 the
files do not have this golden look, but retain the original pale bleached look.
I "uninstalled" photoshop on my work computer and deleted all references and settings that I could find for photoshop. I
then reinstalled photoshop and logged onto the computer as a new user. The images still have the golden look while open in
photoshop CS3 and not the actual pale bleached look.
Files:
1. Both the home computer and the work computer are using the default color settings as shown in this screen capture:
<http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/frommm/photoshop/color_settings.jpg>
2. The home computer photoshop opens this file and it looks as it does pale bleached look:
<http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/frommm/photoshop/original.bmp>
3. The work computer photoshop opens the file titled original.bmp but displays it like this, with the golden look. This image is a screen capture of the file original.bmp open in photoshop on my work computer.
<http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/frommm/photoshop/original_file_open_in_photoshop.jpg>
Why is photoshop CS3 on my work computer altering the image, while photoshop CS3 on my home computer retains orignal pale bleached look?

Anti-aliasing means: create artificial pixels
at edges. These have colors somewhere between
the 'main image' and the 'background'.
These pixels have interpolated colors.
If the background is transparent, then such an
interpolation doesn't exist. Because a trans-
parent background doesn't have a color.

Are you loading image files while it's eating ram....Photoshop never releases the images after they have been closed....This can be a problem when using large or many small files.....
I guess it didn't matter in the olden days when image sizes were relatively small / less RAM intensive.

No. When it happens, I'll have a fresh image that I've been working on, and it'll just steadily increase until it crashes. Rarely will the psd files go over 300mb, so they're not that huge...

Wow...so many things to think about...I have Photodeluxe Home Edition 3.1, which came on my old ME, and PDHE 4.0 that I downloaded from a flash drive. I do not have the business edition... YET! I LOVE PD..Surely, the business edition and home edition must be similar. PD does the same thing as photoshop without going cross-eyed when looking at all the varables on the photoshop page..My goodness, I have not found any difference in the capabilities. Obviously you know much more about computers..I have Vista home premium 32. It is about 1 year old.
I reinstalled 3.1 and it works if I open it directly..I can't figure out how to get it to be recognized as a program this time, so I can't get it on the "open with" list. PDE worked fine before and so I just assumed that "time" caused it to fail. I do not know about hard drive problems (wish I did) and to my knowledge ...don't think I have viruses? Depending on when I installed either of them, I often got dll issues..missing xx dll. This time there does not seem to be any issues for the time being. I usually want to clean up noise in a photo or correct some minor cosmetic problems..I have Photoshop elements but HATE TRYING TO USE IT. I deleted CS3.I am sure if I wanted to study what all of the symbols mean, etc..using photshop wouldn't be so bad..but I HAVE A WONDERFUL PROGRAM= PHOTODELUXE that seems to be too oudated. I still will try to use it until the next time it fails. I know that I cannot let my vista update my ITUNES. When I tried to use an updated version, my DVD/CD ROM was knocked out and so I use an older version of Itunes. Last week my CD ROM drive was missing again, until I finally realized that my pc automatically updated to a new version of Itunes...Isn't that ironic..old Itunes is fine but not when it comes to old photodeluxe? In the future,I would use some of your tips if I understood them. If you keep using your PBE, keep in touch..So yours works fine but then it just shuts down? I never had that happen. I could not open the programs. Finally, I do not know what the differences are between business and home editions.

Robert, Why does photodeluxe work for awhile on Vista and then fails in 3-6-12 months? I use PD for photos in music videos. Some photos that are old need fixing up. Sometimes I enhance facial features. Sometimes I make a photo larger..I am not creating art from scratch if that is what you were asking. I just edit photos..remove backgrounds, feather, etc. For me, the photoshop page is so filled with graphics, dimensions, tool pics, that I become overwhelmed.

Okay so, whenever I try and install (In Vista 64bit) CS4 I get the error:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
Error:
Error 2.
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack_x64
Error:
Error 2.
LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
Error:
Error 2.
Does anyone out there know what causes the above errors with CS4 installation? Does anyone know the solution, a Google search provides some clues but none that seem logically worked out.
The only real solution I could find was one telling me to do some things with the public folder, I tried that and the did a clean reinstall and no dice. Will be trying that again, any help would be amazing!!

What printer model?
I'm going to guess Epson, and you didn't save the custom page size. Try saving it as a custom page size, then using that custom setting. It's a known bug in Epson's drivers.

Hello World,
Every time you duplicate a folder or a layer, it adds the word "Copy" at the end. Is there a way to get rid of this?
I've been looking for a solution to this for the past 2 years. I spend 8 hours a day in Photoshop creating Comps. I'm crazy about having my layers clean, therefore I use a lot of folders, etc.
I probably waste an hour a day removing the $%)?#* Copy word at the end of layers/folders. This is driving me CRAZY while losing a lot of precious time.
Any clues?
I'm still hoping Adobe will get rid of this with every new release and it never happens. Am I actualy the only one to think this "feature" is insane?
Thank you.
