Hello, John:

It was just an "inside joke," with no disrespect intended. Japan's key
naval defeat, in the Battle of Midway, was partially due to American
Magic...if you know what I mean?

Hello, Alfred:

There is, but, I'm unwilling to pay a price premium for it.

Hello, John:

It's much more likely that, they doubt dial-up dummies could afford their
expensive DSLR cameras. :-J

Hello, Nicko:

I'm a dial-up slug, and my Sceptre 24" LCD monitor (model X24WG) is
always running at its native resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

No, but then I doubt if I could kill anyone with my computer, so learning
the hard way is no real problem. Don't forget that I am 73 and retired. I
used computers in my job for most of my life, and I learned their operating
systems well enough to get the job done. Unfortunately, every new machine
has a different operating system, so I had to learn several during my
lifetime, and now, using them as a hobby, is no different. I still have to
learn a different operating system every time I change machines. Some people
love this. I do not. I even learned a programming language once, and
acrtually wrote programs in it. But then, they changed the
language.....again and again, until I could no longer keep up. And they are
still changing the language, so I can't keep up with just using the damn
things.

Piloting an airplane is one of the most boring jobs there is. Operating a
computer is much more demanding, and administrating/programming one is more
interesting yet. Ay goofball can learn to pilot an airplane. But I can
barely use a computer, and I have a 140 IQ. Unfortunately, using a computer
well requires a lot of short term memory, and I was never good with short
term memory. And, the older I get, the worse my short term memory has
become.

Now, now.
Take all the time you are spending in these News Groups, and devote it
to reading that good book on Windows Vista.
Then put what you are able to glean from it, and report back in 2 or 3 months.

In Firefox, View => Zoom => Zoom_In. Do it as many times as you need to
get the size you want. Set View => Zoom => Zoom_Text_Only to stop it
enlarging images as well.

A quick & dirty method I use when sites do dumb things like that is to
select the offending text, which will highlight it, or hit CTRL+A to
select everything. The highlight will make just about any colour
combination easily visible.

In Firefox, View => Page Style => No Style, will remove all the
formatting, colours, etc.

Have you tried Add_Or_Remove_Programs, from the Control Panel?

Unfortunately, this is the price you pay for using Internet Explorer
instead of a secure web browser, &/or for installing dodgy programs from
websites.

Boot from a clean floppy & "fdisk /mbr" is how I used to do it.
