So it IS CS4 and NOT Photoshop v.4!

If it came pre-installed, you may only have the Free Trial version which is good for 30 days.

This a very complex and sophisticated application, and you are going to need considerable help in learning to use it, so I strongly recommend that you buy Adobe's Photoshop CS4 Classroom in a Book".

To turn off CS4's Tabs feature, you need to open Photoshop's Preferences (Command K) and uncheck that feature.

What happens when you try one of the panos you did successfully in CS3 as a CS4 pano?

Hello all,

I have designed and animated a loading spinner in Photoshop CS3, which needs to sit within an Ajax overlay, with transparency set to 75.

I tried exporting the spinner as an animated gif with a transparent background (using Save for Web), but it gave the animation a pixelated outside edge. Does anybody know how to remedy this?

As the Ajax overlay is semi-transparent, I tried exporting the animated gif with a black background and transparency set to 75%. I ticked the transparency box in the export window, but once it is loading in the Ajax it doesn't seem to be transparent (see here: <http://www.chrisgartside.co.uk/flash/Screenshot.jpg)>

Any help is very much appreciated.
Best wishes,

ruth.

I forgot to mention that the Ajax pop-up is fired up from a Flash gaming applet.

Thanks very much in advance.

ruth.

Hi

My version of Photoshop is in German, so I don't know if the translation is correct...

If I open the print preview window (File>Print) and change the print encoding to JPEG, it switches it pack to Binary when I press "finish" or "print...". I must be able to change this, printing using binary is not an option.

This issue exists since we switched to Intel Macs. The problem appears on a fresh mac os x 10.5.6 installation with just Photoshop installed. And it's only on Intel Macs, on PPC Macs we do not have this problem.

I called the hotline and they confirmed this issue, but couldn't help me because I got an MLP-license.

What can I do? Thanks for your help!
Manuel

How stupid of me to not be able to tell the difference between sarcasm and someone trying to be a prick. I mean; And who hasn't heard of Von Kries, come on! He's up their with Jesus, Tesla, and Plato, when it comes to people everyone should know.

Let the geek squad have their laugh with each other; it may be the only opportunity for social interaction they have all day. Besides, I've yet to google "how to pick up on sarcasm through keystrokes". That will be next on my "to do" list; right after I research "how to show patience towards those who think they are better than everyone".

Sorry to disturb your little post. How dare I assume someone be more ignorant than me when it comes to color constancy. And shame on me for trying to help, despite my inability to. I don't know what got into me guys.

^^^ yes, that. I agree cmd-P is certainly more useful, but it also invokes a dialog box that has to be dismissed. As opposed to a simple pop-up that goes away when you release the mouse button. I found it useful on occasion; I don't see why Adobe would remove a feature like that for no particular reason (why could it not have remained as an option in the menu Neil posted?)

Thanks for the tip on "Status Bar" Ramon, guess I missed that all these years. Now if I could find out what the little page pop-up is called, maybe I could find others to commiserate with on its passing. Or perhaps I will just have to mourn alone...

Nope. I don't have any PhotoShop Workspaces. And someone else suggested turning Version Cue off. That didn't help either. Anything else?

well since you are the only one with this problem its more like corruption in your system. try saving a PDF in a new user.

Recently moved Photoshop CS3 from PowerBook G3 to MacBook Pro. Would not open. Photoshop support had me do something that worked.... except now I get a warning message every time I open Photoshop. "Photoshop moved from where initially installed. Repair some settings". Then Photoshop takes real long to launch. Does this each time I run Photoshop after turning off computer. Photoshop insists I pay for their install advice that created this error.

Ross reinstall from scratch and leave Photoshop where the installer puts it.

Hello,
This is an ancient problem but I've long forgotten how to fix it. When I save a file in photoshop, jpg or tiff format, some images don't show a preview when I go to search for it. Some items have a miniscule message on a white B/G or some images show the preview for a second and then go black. I can't tweak a preference file to avoid this. Oddly, I have some files that preview fine under "Find" or "Open File."
Can you help here?
Thank you,
Al

I tried a new user, and if anything Safari 3.2.1 was even slower than the normal account.
I've read all kinds of suggestions on the intertube and haven't found anything meaningful. Stuff about Autofill making a few seconds difference. Believe me that ain't the problem.
Safari is SLOW. Lots of people say the same.
