I'm quite tempted to use a very rude acronym after that little lot!

I haven't got the time or inclination though.

If you actually bought it, there's no reason to be reinstalling it or being in trial mode. There should be a serial number that came with your purchase, you enter it when prompted and you can use the software forever. Hopefully you didn't buy it on ebay or at some steep discount somewhere, because there's a good chance it's probably an illegal copy and you got ripped off.

Im not sure if u get wat my problem really is, it seems that theres some corrupted files or something causing a malfunction in the software. The program either pop out a terms and condition, and whenever i click agree nothing happens or the error message i had state earlier, i ran the CCleaner and it seems to have resolve everything. Anyway thanks for taking time in reading my problem.

Answering back i didnt get it from e-bay so rest assured not ripped off. :)

I purchased adobe photoshop through Dell when I bought my new computer. The computer crashed and I had to send it back for a new model. I need to install Adobe to my new computer and when I do it is telling me that the serial number is invalid. I try calling Adobe and they told me it would be a 40$ charge to ehlp me. RIDICULOUS. Can you help me with this problem?

Ah, finally a "personal use only" reference, from Jim Jordan's post #30 above. So, while I'd tend to echo his comment in #34, at least there is an implication that perhaps "personal use" means "non-commercial use". But definitely more clarity is needed from Adobe, rather than using such a vague phrase more subject to interpretation than simply stating very concisely that "no commercial use is permitted"...although I still don't see how Adobe would really ever be able to effectively enforce such a restriction.

Regards,

Daryl

I was considering getting my son (with student eligability) to get a student version scince it is sooo much cheaper.. could you explain the difference again ( in simpler terms) I'm not quite understanding the Commercial use? does this mean that you dont get to have ALL of the funtions ot it wont let you doo certian things??

Commercial use means you can use it for paying work.

Stick with the commercial version if there's any chance that will happen.

Daryl, I agree completely with you...there's simply no way to enforce it
any more than there is to enforce the two activations for only one user.

It is fully functional and you can do what you like with it, but not for financial gain, either privately or in a company.

Hi

Is it possible for the magnetic lasso to function as an open line rather than a closed loop?

Many thanks
Andy

Did you ever see an open lasso? It wouldn't work!

The point of the selection tools is to enclose an area of the image.

You need the pen tool for "lines".

I have used Font Naviagator which comes with the Corel suite, but with 'font preview' in every app it is no longer necessary.

I also have the Adobe Type Library reference book if I want to look at typefaces to make a choice.

Hi there,

I'm having some real trouble trying to figure out how to edit a PDF in photoshop cs4. So i need to edit/change text, move things around, that type of thing.

I work in Windows.

Could someone give me a bit a low down on how this is done?

Much appreciated,

Victoria

You would be better off using a different program: That is what Adobe Acrobat is for.

Ok.

But is it possible to edit PDFs in Photoshop?

You can Open As...Photoshop PDF and edit the images, but the text will be rasterized.

You can open them but you will totally rasterize everything.

PDFs are not intended to be edited. They are a final format but as
mentioned you can use Acrobat for some minor text edits or use it to
extract the images to Photoshop for further editing.

Hi,
I saw in an article that you can make PS look more personal by changing the details at the to, instead of showing PS Extended. Does anyone know how to do it.My version is PS3 Extended

Since one is vector and the other raster there's really no reason there should, but... 8-/

If you turn the layer to be scaled into a Smart Object first, you at least don't risk extra degradation as you go. Setting opacity to 50% lets you see what you're doing.

Anyone else?

Hi NOT strictly Photoshop, but I thought someone out here may help!

One of my clients wants their files sent securely on DVD. One suggestion was to ZIP the jpegs and then appy the password option.
Has anyone done this? As it is really for security I would save at minimum compression. But Does it affect the image quality?
Is there a better solution for secure delivery?

Thanks,
John

Zipping will not harm or aid image quality or overall file size. Zipping does very little to binary files like JPG. The zip process only offers password protection.

The best solution for secure delivery is to deliver what the client perceives to be the best option.
