I'm definitely with you there, Zeno. It's amazing how it speeds things up.

Absolutely (have a link);
<http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch/choose/windowssearch4.mspx>
I hear you about having "too many eggs in one basket". One thing I find annoying is when Adobe Bridge has a boatload of new images in it; Microsoft's Desktop search then chooses to "update" it's database, right at the time Bridge is also processing them. Annoying to no end. I couldn't find a switch to turn it off for Bridge; so I disable it (when I remembered to do so b4 firing up Bridge). Google's Desktop search (for me at least) is somewhat easier to configure and less resource heavy.

Hi, I'd like some questions concerning animation in photoshop.
I'd like to do some animation in photoshop, especially frame to frame animation. (such as editing images from stop motion)
But I'd like to import big quantities of images to a psd file, and which each image would automatically be imported to 1 different layer. Is it possible to do that?
The photos are fairly too high resolution to export as video (3456x 2034) so i don't want to make a video out of them and import the video sequence...
Thanks

Hi I'd like to know how to import or load batches of images into a single psd file, which each image would be loaded into a layer.
I've been working with the place option.. but its kind of long considering i have over 500 images to load.... which means 500 layers....
(its for editing an animation.)
Thanks!

You can do it in PS extended. See here. <http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/10.0/help.html?content=WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7454.html>

Using CS3, I can use the magic wand to select portions of an image and delete them so they will be transparent. But I can't, for the life of me, figure out or find out how to do it in 5.0. Actually, I managed to select the portion I wanted to appear, and move it into a new file with a transparent background, checked the box in the Layers Palette to preserve transparency, and saved the file. I want to be able to insert the image into a Publisher newsletter. But when I tried to insert it, the file didn't even appear in the Open File window because it was a Photoshop .psd file. I had also saved it is a .jpg file, but the transparency didn't hold when I inserted it and then his Print Preview. Any ideas? Thanks! I'm really under the gun.

I have the same exact problem when I open CS3 bridge from within CS3 Photoshop. If I open CS3 bridge up on it's own, I don't have this issue.
Vista, Nvidia 8600GT newest driver installed.

Press and hold Ctrl as soon as you start Bridge(you should get a dialog box before Bridge appears) and try resetting your preferences and/or standard workspaces

Zeno,
Thank you. :) I believe that corrected my display issue.
Previously, I ticked reset bridge preference file in the reset dialog box. Your post made me think of Photoshop as a workspace. I hadn't really thought of opening Bridge from within Photoshop as a workspace. This time I went ahead and ticked all the boxes.

Ok,
Virtal printers do not work tried a PDF one, tried a microsoft one. Installed another network printer which is Post Script as well.
This is not a network issues as the person and everybody eles can print to the printers all other adobe programs work fine Illistrator works find JPG. This is a PhotoShop issue. It seems in Photoshop I can print PDF from it but when I try to print a JPG or a Photoshop file it then says no printer found.

I have downloaded the Adobe Photoshop CS4 trial from adobe.com. First
you have to unpack it, that works fine. But then you have to install
it, and that doesn't work. When I open Setup.exe in the folder Adobe
CS4, Vista first asks for admin right, and after accepting, it doesn't
do anything anymore. When I go to task manager, to the tab processes,
Setup.exe is in there, but it doesn't do anything...
I'm running Windows Vista x86.
How to get Photoshop installed??

I have created a file with about 35 layers. The top layer is needed to make the lower layers look right. My plan was to copy the first two layers into the new file, turn off the second layer, turn on the third layer, and then copy it, along with the top layer still turned on, into the same new file. I want to repeat this process until all layers have been copied. I just cannot seem to find out how to do this without a tremendous amount of extra work. So I know how to do it the looong way, but surely there is a way I can copy two layers, in their arranged order, as one new layer into a new file? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do this? Thanks.

File > scripts > layers to files. Then batch those created PSD files using an action that places the effect layer on top.

You will need to ask Adobe about cross-country registration

Hi BluNos,
Below is a link speaking to the opacity problem and a script that you find useful.
<http://www.adobe.com/go/kb409030>
As for more presets, we don't have anymore to download unfortunately. You can use 3D> Export 3D Layer... Save this out as a DAE and place the output in to your Preset> Meshes folder as you discovered. Only DAE files will show up in the 'New Shape From Layer' menu. Unfortunately, Ps CS4 doesn't have a robust UV map editor. You may want to ask over at SketchUp about UV editing; maybe they have a plug-in to help out.
cheers,
steve
