My heartfelt expression of gratitude goes out to Wade Zimmermann and Ann Shelbourne, both of whom have helped me on numerous occasions with photography, Photoshop and computer questions on these forums, which are about to expire.
Wade, you have been exceedingly generous with me and I have drawn much inspiration from your photography. If I never see another flower, tree, bug or cat photograph in my remaining life, it will be just fine and dandy with me; but your images were always a gift. I owe you big time.
By this I don't mean to diminish the beauty of some of the shots by some of the other contributors to this particular forum, such as some of the people shots by Donald before he went on his current grotesque HDR kick. I don't want to name others for fear of inadvertently overlooking someone.
I did want to single out Wade and Ann for reasons that I hope will be amply clear to them.
Thank you.

It's true. They both have worked very hard for many years now... to make sure questions are answered in several of the forums.
All this sentimental stuff has brought back memories. One I had almost totally forgotten. Remember the infamous BBQ? :-)

Thank you Ramón you have actually help so many on this forum with many with your knowledge of photographic equipment and i wished you had posted more of your wonderful photography. It is always a pleasure to see people such as yourself and Ann and Donald and Peter Figen and Phil Shock and Fred and Nick and Patrice who have such strong personal viewpoints of the world but none express themselves in such an individual and as strong a way as you do. it is refreshing to see you her all the time with such passion for what you feel and have experienced the astrology images are always remarkable to see.
I don't usually think this way when I see someone's work but when I see your images i always think, how does he do it!
Of course I am a big fan of Howard and shep and hope though I will miss seeing the work on the forum that like Ramón I hope if you do post you do so in a way that your images are protected from misuse.
And it has been a real pleasure to see Linda grow in her quest for a high professional standard and Ramona has just blown us all away with this new found freedom and creative flurry that is unmatched here on the forum and i would think in very few places elsewhere.
It has been fun except for that guy Todie!

My thanks go out to all of you who have helped me with computer troubles over the years. Ramon and Ann are among the most knowledgable people i know and i am really grateful for their help, as well as all the rest of you have been regular contributors over the years.
I cant see much point in a photo forum without pictures, so we will see what becomes of this forum.Its been a pleasure to see the variety of artists here and the images they take. Best wishes to everyone and all the best to each of you in the future.

I feel that we CAN still have pictures — but we need to post them on Pixentral (the way that we do now);
and then either use the rather convoluted html-field method to post the Pixentral Thumbnail in the new forums;
or just provide the link that shows at the top of the Pixentral Full-image page.
Like this:
<http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1LYjzuvRRHuEfr2teyQTG1xLaCa4M0>
What we should NEVER do is to click on the New Forum's "Camera Icon" to post an image directly on to Adobe's own Servers.

Only a few hours left for this very special place.
I have so much enjoyed the sharing of ideas and images that has occurred here and the special friendships that have developed among so many of us.
Let's hope that the ugliness and clumsiness of the New Place won't prove too impossible to use and that most of us can stomach it sufficiently to post there — even if it is only occasionally.
I would particularly like to thank those of you who have posted such kind messages about my input to this Forum.
I am delighted that you have found my comments helpful but it is a two way street because I have found YOUR images and YOUR experiences to be fascinating, stimulating and inspiring too.
I now have a huge appetite for eating Epson paper and drinking Epson Ink thanks to my new R1900, which I would never have bought if it had not been for this Forum (fortunately neither are fattening); and also a new interest in Macro-photography and Stacking for which Fred is entirely responsible!

Maybe one day a bunch of us can meet up somewhere... maybe somewhere cool like coastal Maine... and take some pictures of an early sunrise... followed by breakfast, and lively conversation. :-)

That won't work. You'll get an obnoxious little orange-red rectangle with the diagonally striped circle telling you that hot-linking is not allowed. :/

Not here, Ramón.
If I click on the html text in the new Forum, it opens the full image in pixentral and I can refresh it continuously without hindrance.
If you can't, then it has to be because of some setting that you have in Firefox; or perhaps Adblock or some other Script is interfering?

NEVER post images of value in these Forums by clicking on the Camera Icon to "Insert Image":
unless you intend to give away ALL USAGE RIGHTS to Adobe Systems Inc. for all purposes, in all media, globally and in perpetuity — for no payment.
That little Camera Icon is Adobe's Gateway to steal your property by stealth!
To use Pixentral and make the thumbnail visible in the New Forums:
You need to do is to open the "Reply Box" and click on the blue >> symbol.
Choose "Insert raw html" to open the HTML box.
Then you copy the Pixentral html code into the box, as we always have done, but with this difference:
You need to remove the forward slash that comes immediately between the quotation mark " and the greater-than >.
"/>

Linda,
Like I said, for me, it's never been about money. I've lived with it, I've lived without it. Having it is better, but true joy is creating... in whatever form one happens to be working. Pressing the button, 'capturing' a vision', is a high. Being able to see it so soon, via digital cameras, a thrill!
Having sat so long on the brink of eternal darkness, I admit that now I'm feeling better, therefore not always focused on pain, every experience that relates to the senses is enhanced in a way I never would have believed possible.
Food never tasted so good. Or water so pure and clean. A deep breath of fresh air is heavenly. The fragrance of flowers divine. Birdsong glorious. Touch is softer or harder than before. Every single thing has more intensity.
And seeing - the most wonderful gift of all, is the greatest gift.
It's so easy to slip into complacency after having experienced day after day, year after year of life. Back then, it was all running together, but now I see everything with brand new eyes.
Life is good.
Patrice

Had a quick moment to check in here. It looks as though these forums are disappearing in fifteen minutes. Just wanted to check in and repeat, if for one reason or another don't see you on the other side, 'twas great meeting y'all. Thanks for everything.
Better post this before it disappears...
Bye.
