Newsreaders would certainly be a plus.
Never thought I'd find myself saying that... <g>

I just don't get it. This is so fast and the new one is so slow. Why do they want the damn thing? It's mind boggling.

      Do like me, subscribe to digests by email.
Nini:
You have just posted a "Recipe for Death of Forums" right there.
Using e-mail is about the most selfish way possible to use a Forum because you no longer are sharing information for the benefit of other users.

Possibly because someone rather high in the feeding chain at Adobe has a personal vested interested in the Jive corporation?
I can think of no other feasible reason.

Maybe there will be a forum bailout plan.
I hate that format, it's the reason I don't use forums that otherwise might be useful (rarely).
And sorry, Neil, but I fired you because you couldn't prevent this. There's always someone who doesn't get the word.

Ann,
You are totally misunderstanding the benefits of email-digests.
I've always been on email-digest for this and other forums. I never go to the forums except for answering or starting a topic.
Neil,
Digests also are not an awful lot of emails, it is one collected email at the interval you set for how often you want to receive them. They contain links to the live topics, just click and you are there to participate in the discussion. But without having to actually go to the forum and search for that elusive topic.
I've never been a fan of forums, always preferred emails.

You mean we should all "move to a better party down the street" — like we all did when we made a mass exit from the AOL SIG Forums about ten years ago?
Let me know when you find an address for a Better Party this time.

I also read everything on the forums through email and respond directly on the forum. It has the added bonus of allowing me to save them if they are on something that I want to refer back to later.

Exactly. That's what I do too. I've got everything saved since Aug 2nd 2007... Searchable. Without having to go online for it.

      Chris Boyce, you are a moron.
That's not rude, that's factual.
Perfect example of what's wrong with this forum (the community, not the software running it) when there aren't any repercussions for folks who are overtly offensive. :/

      Can't wait to see this happy talk migrated to the new forums.
You mean the Kindergarten Forums?
Where we get to:
Post the "happy talk" in colored text in a dozen fonts (including Comic Sans!);
Display ugly mug shots of ourselves (or the sort of self-satisfied smirks that we have already seen in the Test Forum);
And give each other Points (Gold Stars) for "Correct Answers".
And it is all as slow molasses in February?
But they did leave out the finger paint so where's the fun in that?

Well I have only managed to find the utterly infantile:
<http://adobeforums.adobe.com/community/general/english_discussions?view=discussions>
which fully comply with my description in #18.
But I couldn't find the Finger Paint — that seems to be the only unnecessary frivolity that has been omitted from those horrible new Forums.

      Maybe the two go inherently hand-in-hand?
Yes.
Which is why this post (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b87aa7/18) drowns in irony.
      I get so annoyed with you lot at Adobe. What have you done, I don't think
      you actually take any advice from real photographers who are using your
      product every day. Sure you may talk to the occasional photographer who
      is happy to spend 10 hours on one image, paid for by a huge client.
And I'd rethink the word toxic, too. Just for your sake, sanity and benefit (being that you might stick around here longer).

Know anything about HPs?
My printer friend just bought a used HP Laser 5100TN and wants to be able to print 85li, 1200dpi output. He can print xls & doc files but the screens are too dithered for him to reproduce a dot on his Itek camera, using paper plates.
Is there any print driver, or something, that would allow him to print PDFs, that have 10 or 20% screens, and get an 85 line, 1200 dpi output to the HP?

Yes.... I just got off the phone with tech support and we have figured it to be related to my log-in account. I created a new log-in and I no longer had the problem. I am in the process of switching everything over. Somehow my mac account has some sort of corruption. My thanks to tech support...... it took us a while to figure it out.... they had never heard of my particular problem.
Thanks for responding.

Did you activate the "Bigger Tiles plug-in"?
I used to use it with CS3 but have found very weird screen artefacts when used in CS4 with OpenGL on OSX 10.4.11

I have the same problem with my G5 Mac. GeForce 6600 card and a 30" 1920x1650 Cinema HD monitor. I'm narrowed my problem down to the video card. There are two solutions to this problem.
1) Get a new video card
2) If you want a temporary solution, change your colors from Millions to Thousands in the Display settings.
