Recent posts on this subject was a book called, "Sams Teach Yourself Adobe Photoshop CS3 in 24 Hours."; which got some good reviews; I have it, but haven't dug into it yet.

Before getting books, I would recommend that you obtain all free stuff that you can get your hands on.

First, start with any free Tutorials that come with it; I got the Master Suite Collection, so I don't know if my tutorials are the same as what someone might get if they got Photoshop by itself.

Second, go to www.pirateskool.com or especially www.YouTube.com and watch anything that has a subject matter of what you are looking for.

Third, go to www.creativecow.net and do a subject search : Photoshop.

Four hundred fifty two, post like crazy on here if you have any questions what-so-ever.

I know that most of this seems like generic stuff, but you did say, "to begin to learn".

Be more specific and this group can direct you better.

Hopefully no one says, "just click on buttons to see what they do." Grrrr... <rolling eyes> That annoyed the heck out of me when my teachers at college told me to do that. How can one see the light if they are not even shown it.

Keep posting and keep photoshopping.
