use save for web. you have more control and don't get annoyed by the stupid "copy copy" issue.

There are two things that cause that to happen to me:
1) After creating a layer or two and fail to merge before saving.
2) Use Filter > Distort > Lens Correction

There may be other things that cause it to happen but those are the
ones I see. Don't know how to get rid of it in #2 but #1 is fixed by
merging the layers before saving as a jpg. If you want to preserve
your layers, you'll need to modify your script to first save as a PSD,
Merge Layers, then save as JPG.

Photoshop does not have a live update so your problem must be with something else.

After some thoughts I have managed to do it by playing with the CSS.
Thanks.

I would look at all the extra software that HP puts on their computers. There have been a few posters on here who bought new computers that discovered some pre-loaded software was conflicting with CS4.

Now, I don't know what you have already tried, and I certainly do not know what the colours in your image should be like, but I do know that the major problem is a very strong cyan cast present.
Photoshop has a one click wonder that will cure that problem, and as is so often the case with PS, it is achieved by using the " wrong" tool.

Open your image, go image>adjustments>match colour.

Do not play with the colours...........simply put a check in the "neutralize" box.........that may be all you need to do.

Use them as an icon of sorts in Blogger. Yes I did "Save for Web" and saved as .gif. Still get a white square around the graphic. I'm using IE 7.

Michael - how is that a problem? Photoshop reuses all that memory, and plugins can use it as well.

How is that Not a problem? With the amount of brush lag that I see, compared to CS3, there has to be an issue with the RAM usage.

No, those probably aren't related at all.

You're seeing brush lag (not normal), and Photoshop using RAM up to the limit you set in preferences (very normal) and reusing that RAM (very normal).

Just created a panorama out of 4 jpegs (together about 33MB) and saved it as jpeg.
Now I want to create another panorama out of 10 jpegs (together about 73MB), it worked fine, but I can't save it in jpg format. CS3 only offers .psb, raw or tif. So whatswrong or did i miss something?

Remember that JPEG only supports 8 bits/channel, and has a size limit (I think 32,000 pixels across or down).

Without knowing more about why/when you're crashing, nope.
And what do you mean by "OpenGL crashes"?

As for the RAM usage - that's normal. Photoshop allocates and reuses RAM up to the limit you set in preferences. But that isn't a leak, and won't cause a crash.

As in the Enable GPU will suddenly stop working and I'll have to restart PS, the brushes will lag considerably, basically everything that people are complaining about in the CS4 is a disaster thread. I haven't seen any fix that works, nor have I heard anything concrete about Adobe working on the situation.

It now takes me double the time to do my work in CS4 as it did in CS3. That is not acceptable.

Ok, that's not a crash. That's a case of "your driver returned an error when it shouldn't have and Photoshop had to disable the GPU support". That means: that your driver has bugs, or something is conflicting and causing the driver to return errors. That can only be fixed in the video card driver.

Brush lag and other problems: may be Photoshop bugs, or may be driver issues. Hard to tell since you lump all problems together.

I installed a nVidia 9600 GT, as it was listed as one of the cards tested by Adobe for use with CS4. It has the latest and most up to date drivers. The problems still exist.

I have Photoshop CS4. Each time I start Photoshop, I have to reset the preferences. I thought that they were supposed to remain the same until I opened the preferences dialogue box and changed them. How do I get them to save?

What do you mean "have to reset the preferences"?
Why are you having to reset them?

Photoshop preferences save when you exit the application.
And yes, you change them inside the application (but preferences includes a lot more than just the things in the preferences dialog).

This can happen if Photshop is closed abnormally.

For instance when the computer is shut down with PS still running.

I just built a new computer and I am trying to install Photoshop CS using my Photoshop CS upgrade disk. However, my Photoshop 5.0 disk is long gone and I don't have a previous installation of it on my new hard drives.. I called Adobe support and they won't help me because they say CS is unsupported now. Is there a way to install CS?

Gentlemen and Ladies,

I am about to purchase a Canon 5D MkII to replace my 6 megapixel D10 which has become very long in the tooth. Given the size of the images the 5D will produce (21 megapixels)and the fact that the CS3 ARC will not recognize the D5 MkII raw files I will need to upgrade from CS3 to CS4.
For CS4 to operate eficiently I need to upgrade my board so the computer will take one of the better recommended video cards. I'll also be upgrading from a Pentium 4 to a current dual processor.

All of this leads to the question - How can I transfer or reload my CS3 (It was an upgrade) to the new system so I can upgrade from it to CS4?

Anxious in Northwest Florida!!

AKA Bob Goldberg
