Hi,

both PCE-X are x16. However I switched the cards. The 8800GT is no in PCI-E (2) the 8400GT in PCE-E (1).
It is now recognized correctly from CS 4 Extended.

The cards were installed at the same time.

Thanks. So if anyone has the same problem this is how to fix it.

Matthias

It's been weird i used to have PS CS3 Extended with no such problems.. but ever since i upgraded to PS CS4, when i'm working on a file and try to undo, the screen doesn't seem to refresh, meaning that after undoing (even though the history panel reflects the undo) whats supposed to be undone still appears on the screen, but it goes away as soon as you move the cursor on the file and click with the mouse.

in short, when undoing anything you need to click on the image to update or refresh the file.

have tried enabling and disabling the GPU setting and did all sort of other things to work it out with no luck.

anyone with the same problem?

p.s: i have ps CS4 as part of the master collection CS4 but only installed PS & bridge plus the shared components.

Of course..! It is only now that you see my point. I am really
surprised listening to your question. Yer kidding, right?
Not simply if you come across a copy of the book but if you have the
owners permission to scan pages or photographing it, the copyright of
your photos will be yours. Remember the moon... you may taking photos

I'm having the same problem! when undoing, the file would't refresh automatically and would need you to click on the file with any tool to get it refreshed!

any tips?

Maybe I replied a little too quickly in #17. Some people seem to have problems with screen refresh, and this may be another variety. But I still can't understand why that should display an image sans profile.

I've been secretly thinking that too. I'd just get a new card first of all (or try the other three I have lying around).

Still, too many people are seeing these problems to avoid concluding that something, somewhere, is messing things up. I have to say I feel a little sorry for the engineers. Here they are, testing on hundreds of systems and there's not a problem anywhere in sight - and then they get hit in the face with a ****storm like this. But they handle it admirably well.

Although there are a lot of people posting here with genuine problems (and I really sympathise) I wonder what percentage that represents of the total sales of Photoshop CS4 so far.

Has anyone actually replaced a card with a different version, obtained the most current updates and said problem solved? Without a series of such events, we do not have any basis by which to say the bug(s) are resolved.

In software testing, when we have filed a bone fide bug, it has to be resolved by the engineers then tested over several platforms before QA will close it.

At least, that's the way we do it where I work doing such testing.

I would suggest that Adobe actually have a couple of cards know to be good available for others to test in their systems. It would go a long way to root out exactly where the problem lies. It needs to be the same card version and driver.

The resulting list of systems that were fixed and those it didn't would be highly useful!

So far, it seems that Adam has been able to duplicate many of the problems. His suggestions so far have only been workarounds that he says will get you "close" to the performance of CS3. It may be driver issues and/or Photoshop bugs, but too many people, including Adam, can demonstrate the problem so I'm betting that it isn't a "defective" card issue. And in my case, I have a $900 card that runs my other 3d apps perfectly, so I'm not that willing to just go out and buy another for testing purposes, although I might if I was the only one having the problems.

To each his own, but if Adobe can demonstrate conclusivly that, with a system basicaaly configured to be reasonably close to universal, this card and this driver will perfom as speced by Adobe. In the interests of getting feedback, offering a short time loan to qualified users would, IMO, garner significant additional data points to be valuable.

My opinion anyway!:-)

Okay, after watching all the tutorials at www.russellbrown.com I know enough that it certainly looks simpler than the standard software out there. However only 3D lenticular is possible and not flip animation lenticular.
My question is ... will Flip animation be made available at some point or will we have to wait for CS5? Or a plugin?

Michael,

Do you perhaps mean Activation? Registration never can stand in the way.

Anyway, Call Adobe helpdesk. They can reset the activation count.

I had this happen a while ago, and calling helped.

Since you did not de-activate it first, it sees you have used all of your
activations. You''ll have to call customer support and explain the
situation and see if they will let you activate again.

When I right clicked on the top of the photo window (photo info header) in any other version of Photoshop I used to get a pop up menu for the following: "duplicate, image size, canvas size, file info, page setup" Right clicking the photo window header doesn't do anything in CS4. Is this a bug in my system or is there something in setting up my workspace or preferences in CS4 that I'm missing?

Not as far as I know. The first undo always sets back the tool state and as paint tools are one-step tools, this may be a limitation in the process. I guess having a way to exclude some operations would be nice, though, so make sure to fiel a feature request:

No, brush presets are "local", meaning spacing is a property of the brush tip, not the tool. If you want to turn the default spacing off, you need to save your own presets and use them.
