Well one way is to take an evening course in basic Web Design to qualify
for the student discount. The savings might be worthwhile -- Something to
think about.

I have an image of a stone wall and have created an aged poster in Photoshop
CS3 which I want to put on the wall. My problem is to get the effect of the
poster adhering to the contours of the wall. I have reduced the opacity of
the poster slightly and distorted it which sort of works but not as
realistic as it could be. Is a displacement map the way to go and if so
could someone advise me or point me in the direction of a tutorial please?

I don't know what you are looking at, but if you want 8-bit then just save
to JPG then you have no other option but 8-bit

Permettimi di ringraziare di cuore, senza l'aiuto di tutti non avrei fatto
in tempo a concludere il lavoro così bene. In attesa di ricambiare o di bere

Niente. ;o)

Hello,

New album "Lumières d'Opale" has been published. If you are
interested, visit my website:
http://lumieresdopale.fr.monsite.orange.fr/index.jhtml or

http://lumieresdopale.fr.monsite.orange.fr

This is information about my website, but not a spam.

The galleries of this website display photographs taken around the
Opale Coast in France, near Le Touquet, under an ever-changing light.
The pictures are changed once or twice a month. The downloading and
use of these images is free as long as they are for personal use and
without resale.

Now on, you can freely see or buy such photos "Lumières d'Opale" (in
A4 format minimum): Click on http://www.licencephoto.com/public/photographe-6510.html.
Then search "OPALE".

Album number 46, named "January 2009-2" has been published. Thanks to
562 visitors of album number 45.

Next album will be published on June 14th.

If you want to tell your opinion or to be personally informed about
new publication, write to lumieresdopale@orange.fr .

I remind you that I am an amateur photographer, who likes French "Côte
d'Opale" and its light on the sea and on the sand of its extensive
beaches. I am living and working in Paris, and spend my holydays in
Merlimont ("Pas-de-Calais"). I use a digital still camera "Sony Cyber-
shot DSC-V1" bought in November 2003.

My website is, for me, an opportunity to progress and to share my
interest for photography and French "Côte d'Opale" with its visitors.
It is also the easiest way, and which less spends time, to collect
your observations and advices. It is without any lucrative
intention.

Congratulations.

Daniel

I know there are morph programs that can can complete such effects,
but is there a preset in photoshop that would allow me to take two
images and merge them to make a final image such as this one

I was once told that LCD screens can not be properly calibrated for
digital printing. Can all new(er) CRT screens be accurately
calibrated? Does one need to buy above a certain quality level to have
a usable CRT? Have any new LCD screens been introduced that cam be
accurately calibrated?
Thank You for any info.

Yeah, already tried that, useless as ever...or at least as useless as
the last four times I've tried using it for font identification.
Honestly, has anyone ~ever~ had that thing properly identify a font
for them?

I'm reaching the point where I think I'm just going to *MAKE* a font
out of the thing, rather than try and find it.

Scratch that, I think I found it, or at least a reasonable facsimile.
I tried inverting my sample image and that seems to have worked.
Closest matches are:
MT Astromo Std B1 5 T
MT Astromo Std B1 5 L
FFF Compact Bold
FFF Compact Bold Extended

The closest match is FFF Compact Bold, with the N, X and Y matching MT
Astromo Std B1 5 L, which leaves J, K, M, Q, R, V and Z being
unmatchable to any of them, although those might have been the ones I
made from scratch based on the style.

I think I'll go ahead and take my version and make a new font out of
it, since there don't seem to be any exact matches.

Here's my version by the way, for those that are interested:

I'll probably make two versions of it when I make an actual font out
of it, one outlined like it currently is and one regular. I'm going
to check around a bit first though on some other font sites and see if
there are any other closer matches, if there are I might be able to
save myself the bother of having to make a whole new font, which is
somewhat of a pain in the ass.

That goes in the <title></title> tag, which is found in the
<head></head> tag, at the beginning of the file (or you could do it the
lazy hacker way and simply open the source and see where the word
"Photo" appears and change it, then save and see if it had the desired
effect...).
